:) I love the old WB logo!
I had taped NSNA years ago and I found it
so amazing, it made the film good! :)

I make T-shirts at home and I print famous
people and famous trademarks on the shirts
and last year I made the old Warner Bros. logo
T-shirt but I don't have picture...Sorry :)

I wish all the old Bond films had their original logos. I miss the old TransAmerica UA logo.

I agree with you The Silver Beast. I grew up seeing that Transamerica logo in front of the Bond films and that logo always meant I was getting ready to have some fun.

I most certainly have to agree, the newer UA logo is just plain old boring.

Give me the old 80's UA logo anyday! :)

(Or it can be totally taken away, such as Die Another Day :))

OK. I was digging through my VHS collection last night and managed to find the one that had NSNA taped on it. The title was scribbled out so that wasn't a good sign. I decided to check it anyway though so put it in the player only to find I'd taped over it with....SHOCK HORROR...I Know What You Did Last Summer.
So now I can't check the logo thing but I know for certain it was the old WB logo and I know that one appears on screen covered by another one. I can't however remember the exact colours or whether the camera goes through the logo to the grid of 007s. As far as I remember it is a cut to black after the logo and then the grid appears.

I guess I'll have to wait for the next time it's on tv now.

Oh my God...

I just put in the tape and...I'm completely wrong. There's no logo to grid transition. We do zoom into the Warner logo and into a second (red) Warner logo. I guess this is where I got the zoom idea. But then, as Tanger said, the grid just snaps on.

Sorry guys. I'm a dope.

I do have an earlier VHS version, blue cover with Domino in a pose and Bond as the centerpiece.

If I recall correctly, that oen just has a Warner logo and then the snap on grid, is this one of the versions being spoken about?

Not sure if this has been mentioned on CBn before (probably has been), but NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN does have a kind of cheeky gunbarrel-like thing.... about two-thirds of the way in. Watch carefully during the scene in which Bond and Largo play "Domination".

If that's not a sly reference to the Eon series, well, my name's Kevin McClory. :)

I've got a copy of NSNA that I taped off the tv. That's got the old WB logo but no such thing like zencat said happens. Sorry that's really bad English but it's late and I'm tired.
As I remember it, a grey version is on screen and then a red version of it zooms onto that. It's a bit weird. Then the screen goes black and the grid appears.

Really? I have the clamshell VHS and it's there in all it's glory. Are you sure what you saw was the old, old WB logo? It's not the WB shield in anyway. It's this one (bad pic, but it's the only one I can find).

I managed to dig out my old cardboard-boxed VHS copy in the hope that it would have this gunbarrel-like begining, but to no avail. :)

Now, that's some interesting NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN artwork. Never seen that passport-stuffed-into-panties pic before - makes the film look a heck of a lot racier than it is.

Is M the highest rating in Australia, the equivalent of an 18 in the UK and an R in the US? Beats me why NSNA would get such a rating, but....

"M" is for Mature audiences only, followed by "R".

We talking Bond here?

"M" is for Mature audiences only, followed by "R".

The equivalent of a British 15 certificate or an American PG-13, then?

Still seems a bit of a high, unnecessarily restrictive rating (NSNA is a PG in Britain, which means that anyone of any age can see it/buy it, although in theory they should seek "parental guidance"). Guess you Aussies must be quite a sheltered lot! :)

The classification below "M" is "PG" for Perental Guidance. "G" (General Audience) is below that again.

"M" for Never Say Never Again does seem a little high now that you mention it. Not sure what it'd be these days though.

But I have wondered how Orion figures at all on the DVD though. :)

MGM bought Orion and now own it's name (as well as the entire Orion library). Perhaps MGM wanted to slap Orion on the DVD rather than a MGM logo.

Sorry to geek out here, but I really do feel that NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN has just about the coolest opening of any Bond film - in fact, of any film. The grid of 007s making way for the aerial shot of jungle and islands, Connery running through the undergrowth, punching out the guard (not sure about that strange frisbee thing of his, though). I even love (for some reason) the fact that the opening credits are in red. And before anyone says "Shame about that rotten title song", allow me to state that I like it. Great opening. Great movie. (Wow, I've just noticed a new Smilie.) :)

I'm in agreement with you 100 percent Loomis...I love the opening of Never Say Never Again and I like the whole gridwork scheme as well...

Such a pity that so many people refuse to watch/enjoy this wonderful Bond film, purely on the grounds that its profits did not flow into the bank accounts of the Broccoli family and Eon.

I couldn't care less who made it - it's a Bond film, and I enjoy watching Bond films. Even the 1967 Casino Royale to some degree.

Quite, all Bond films have their good points. Never Say Never Again is no exception, and to cover myself, neither in The World Is Not Enough.

I don't believe that THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH has any good points. It shouldn't have been made. They should have done a Wai Lin film instead and put Bond on hold between 1997 and 2002. DIE ANOTHER DAY ought to have been the followup to TOMORROW NEVER DIES.

I do, but this discussion on this film takes over enough threads as it is.

Never Say Never Again is great, to be on topic, it's a pity it's sometimes overlooked.

Oh not at all IMO.

Octopussy, A View To A Kill, The Living Daylights...etc....

Most definitely not the last in any ways.

Yeah, THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS was good, but NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN marked the last time we saw the proper James Bond, the real deal - Connery.

While I'll agree that the film was good. I'm going to have to disagree with Connery, he plays Bond in a much more lighthearted way than any of his other films. At that point in time (1983) the real Bond coudlnt contend with the current guy (Moore).

That I disagree with. Connery isn't the only Proper James Bond.
