Because I'm such a fan of the movies, I decided to read Jurassic Park, and it's sequel, The Lost World by Michael Crichton. And I must say, I wasn't disappointed. I'm about 3/4 of the way through TLW, so I should be done with it by the end of the week.

The second one isn't as exciting as the first, though it's still written in a style that I can enjoy. Quite good.

And congrats to me on my 100th post. :)

I'm currently reading Brokenclaw, but as I said in the other thread, I'm really not liking it.

So, I now have a choice out of these:

From Russia With Love
Dr. No
Thunderball
Pocket Essentials: Quentin Tarantino
Pocket Essentials: John Carpenter

I read the Episode III novelization. Ep. III is shaping up nicely, at least from the perspective of plot construction. Listening to it with the Episode III soundtrack really is making me start to believe in the series (John William's score is brilliant...).

I read nearly all of them when I was younger. Between the ages of 10 and 13, I went on a total Christie kick. I think I reached the 70 mark, but I never have read the Westmacott stuff. I gave up before I got to the finish line, though, because they were starting to merge into one big mystery in my brain - and I'd discovered other writers, like Dennis Wheatley and Henry Cecil. That makes me sound 102, but our school library had some old books. :) I didn't read ENDLESS NIGHT until a few years ago, and then I saw the TV film made of it with Joss Ackland and read it again. Very good stuff: really chilling, and I didn't see the twist coming at all. Best Poirot has to be CURTAIN, though.

Thanks for the heads up on Curtain and Endless Night. I've read 30 or 40 odd Christie books over the years, and I'm a big fan. But I've not read either of those yet, so they're moving to the top of the reading list.

Very, very cool! I'm trying to work my up to all of them as well. Saving the (I'm told) outstanding Sleeping Murder and Curtain for last as they close Miss Marple's and Poroit's series in the books.

Re: Christie's books, I have always loved her Poirot books (I have all of the video releases as well). I really like her Tommy and Tuppence stories too.

As far as what I'm reading, I have always been a fan of short stories. Currently I am reading Labyrinths by Jorge Luis Borges. REALLY makes you think.
