My clue : "First name of Bond girl."

But, main girl or secondary ? Movies alone, or movies and novels ?

Possibilities for movies (main and secondary) :

Jill
Mary
Anya
Bibi
Pola
Kara
Lupe
Jynx

I'm lousy at crosswords, so I can't help out much :)

Ok

My clue was:

Fourth word of Bond short story title

Which has to be YORK from 007 IN NEW YORK because it's the only short story title with a four letter fourth word.

Ok, before I post my clue, I have to say: I am amazed at the people in other time zones, before and after me, that already have challenge two into it's second page of posts, and I'm writing this at 7:06am EST!!!!!!!

OK, enough about me. My clue: Sanchez switched him OFF.

My clue: First part of three Bond film titles.

My suggestion: someone with an obvious answer asks for where their word goes so we have a starting point (worth losing the points for eh?)

Well, either that or we fill each 4 letter slot with the word mole. lol.

Uhm, as far as I understand, your clue is wrong.
There aren't 3 Bond films starting with the same thing, especially not in 4 letters (unless you count "the(white space)" as 4).

Could this be an attempt at sabotage ? Especially with trying to lmake us lose points ? Hmmm...

DOCTOR NO

THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN
THE SPY WHO LOVED ME

TOMMOROW NEVER DIES

Snakeyes, there are no three movies where the first part is the same four letter word. Your clue is obviously one of the ones we dont need. With Baron's we get the problem of whether we're going by the books or the movies since there are an awfull lot of girls who died in the movies but few with four letter names so I agree that it's probably Jill Masterson.

So Snakeyes' clue is a fake and Baron's answer would be JILL.

And the one about Sanchez ? Unless it's BOND then I dont see what it is !

Yeah, I was thinking about that as well. I am now sure how "slippery" Matt was being when he created the puzzle box; but here is a thought: Sanchez never switches Bond off, if anything, he switches Bond "ON" when he puts him on the conveyor. So, who does Sanchez switch OFF: Milton Krest, in the decom chamber. How do you spell M-I-L-T-O-N. What is the opposite of ON = OFF.

Remove the ON from Milton and you have MILT, since Sanchez switched him off., i.e removed the ON. We're left with a shortened form of MILTON and a four letter word for our puzzle.

Now as to where the word goes--I for one suggest we work it out and not lose valuable points asking for help; but obviously if others wish to ask--go ahead.

Let's pretend the word "first" wasn't in your clue, eh?

Agh.

Even if we do take it that it's not the beginning of the movie titles, then i'm still fairly totally cluless about what the word is.

"Surname of spoof character based on Blofeld."

I suppose then that would be 'Evil'.

Or NOAH, Woody Allen's Blofeld-Dr No-esque villian from Casino Royale.

This is Matt we're dealing with, let's not assume the obvious.

Well Tanger's clue puts paid to the 'O' as a 2nd letter theory. Could it then be that the 2nd letter is always a vowel? This would also allow for JAWS. Also I think someone had to supply the 2nd name of a henchman which could be KILL of BUNT.

If JILL is correct, then perhaps the henchman KILL would also fit and the L's would intersect. Or course, WINT and BUNT would also intersect.

I also submitted MILT. BOND was thrown out by someone else, not to mention WINT, KIDD, JAWS and KILL. Plus, JILL and some of the book/movie titles.

I would say our list is far from complete.
