DUDE!

It's not Christmas yet. It's not Bah Humbug! It's Flower OFF!

Although, this might be a good time to revisit the thread called "Pierce Brosnan = Jesus Christ (Merry Christmas Jim)." ;-)

Wow, I hope this is a joke. "A great great man"? I've seen fan worship before but this is scary. Martin Luther King, Jr., Gandhi, Abe Lincoln, Clarence Darrow, Thurgood Marshall are great men. Not some actor--no matter how talented--playing a secret agent. Get a grip.

Why would Bondfinnesse be kidding, Jaelle? Brosnan is a great man, if you've seen him in interviews you would see that he is a very humble man. A man does not need to change the face of the earth to be great.

Bondfinesse, I've been holding this back throughout this very, very long thread, but I have to say it: GROW UP!!! This blind hero worship is not becoming of a man your age, especially one who appears to have a fiance and some responsibilities in life. So what if Pierce Brosnan has said some jerky things? Who hasn't? Roger Moore is my favorite Bond, but I wouldn't go home and cry myself to sleep if I found out he told some old lady to piss off (hiss off;P???). We all know Connery could be a jerk, so that's a moot point.

In short, enjoy the guy for what he is: AN ACTOR. Not a saint among men, not Jesus Christ incarnate. A man who is an actor - period.

it's funny to think that a man who can portray James Bond would have grandchildren.

..."grandpa Bond"

(btw, this is not meant as an insult or anything...)

This is an extract from an article (a BBC Website article) about Brosnan getting an honourary OBE.

------------------------------------------------------------------
"It has been something that when they called me a few months ago about this I wasn't quite sure they had the right person but as the months wore on I realised it was for real," he [Brosnan] said.
"I am here today with my family, my children, and it is a day to be treasured."

Foreign Secretary Jack Straw praised Brosnan, 50, for boosting the UK's image around the world as well as for his charity work.

Mr Straw said: "In his portrayal of 007 in the last four Bond films, he has added style and glamour to the image of Britain overseas.
"But he has also worked very hard behind the scenes in supporting an array of charitable causes."

The award celebrated a "truly remarkable achievement" he said, and Brosnan had "captivated audiences at home in Ireland, here in the UK and across the world".

Well, this thread has certainly covered the waterfront.....

Opinions, encounters, facts, reasons and experiences aside (but duly noted) - I will only offer one statement:

Congrats Pierce! Well done. :)
