I think Live and Let Die is my favorite. I need to watch them all again until I can do a full ranking though.

I guess TSWLM was Roger's Goldfinger

Car - Lotus
Henchman - Jaws

It was a great improvement on TMWTGG, and set the tone for his tongue in cheek style.
...and of course it came before all the rip off 'follow the trend' movies.
I think the best film was Live and Let die

but my fav (well right now anyway) is TSWLM,
Barbara Bach is pretty cool; and I love Egypt

My vote is for Octopussy, as it's my favorite Bond film in general. A close second for me would be For Your Eyes Only.

For Your Eyes Only is a good movie, don't get me wrong, but it's just so bloody dull! I can honestly say that this is the first Bond movie that I have sat down and watched, and got completely bored by it. Hopefully the BD will do it some justice.

Saying that, the movie does have some great scenes. The PTS and the Death of the Countess spring immediatly to mind. There is just nothing particuarly groundbreaking about it, it has no tension and the villains are incredibly, INCREDIBLY useless. I don't find them menacing at all.

I know what you mean, Mharkin. FYEO is OK but I've always found it a bit overrated. Just about everything in it I like better in other Bond films i.e,, Bond underwater(TB, TSWLM), returning to Fleming after a film that wasn't faithful to Fleming(OHMSS, TLD, CR), Bond skiing(OHMSS, TSWLM), Bond's romance with a countess and battling thugs on a beach(OHMSS), Bond being kidnapped by a gangster's hoods, meeting with the gangster in his office and becoming allied with the gangster(OHMSS), Bond teaming up with the gangster's group to battle the villain at his mountaintop HQ(OHMSS), Bond in 1980s Cold War intrigue(OP, TLD), Bond in pursuit of a Cold War-era intelligence device and battling an aryan henchman(FRWL), Bond in a Lotus(TSWLM), Bond spying on villain's location, getting caught and involved in a car chase with a woman seeking vengeance for the death of a family member(GF) and Bond battling Blofeld(YOLT, OHMSS, DAF).

BTW, I like your sig quote:

"Next thing you know, Dalton will be showing up at Mel's house with a lighter, asking "Don't you want to know why?' " ~ DinoVelvet.

Anyway, my current rankings are as follows:

001)Moonraker
002)Octopussy
003)The Man with the Golden Gun
004)The Spy Who Loved Me
005)For Your Eyes Only
006)Live and Let Die
007)A View to a Kill

John Barry's music greatly contributes to my preferences for my top 3 although not even to help my #7 pick(as good as Barry's AVTAK score is).

FYEO for me. Roger Moore is perfect in this film. Topol reminds me a sort of "rogue" Kerim Bey. The "morning after" with Lisl, on the dunes, what a beautiful moment...And of course the death of Locque. "He had no head for heights..." Very good line !
Ferrara was useless as well as Bibi but it's not so important.
Carole Bouquet was a good Bond girl. Better than Marceau and far better than Claudine Auger for my taste. On the other hand, in 1981, Isabelle Adjani would have been a better choice for Melina...

I liked Roger Moore as James Bond, and he's my personal second or third best. I'm torn between a few of the films though, as to what my favorite is. I like Live and Let Die, The Man With the Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me, and For Your Eyes Only. I just don't know which is the one I prefer out of them.

Funnily enough, I just realised my list has all the directors bunched together - first the two Lewis Gilberts, then the John Glens, then the Guy Hamiltons at the bottom. Strange....or maybe not :)

All his Bonds are GREAT, but if I can only pic one of them, it'll be The Spy Who Loved Me. Cast, locations, and storyline is absolutely perfect.

Absolutely no contest. The one that got me on board the franchise - Live and Let Die. First Bond film I ever saw in the theater, first soundtrack album I ever bought. To this day the soundtrack is one of my very favorite film scores, Bond or otherwise. I listen to it regularly. I probably watch Live and Let Die more than any other Bond film.

I'm also fond of The Man With The Golden Gun. Great score as well. For Your Eyes Only is also very well done, but the score is atrocious.

1 - Moonraker (My first 007 on the bigscreen)
2 - The Spy Who Loved Me
3 - Live and Let Die
4 - For Your Eyes Only (Almost a tie with #5 but Roger's performance here edge's it)
5 - Octopussy
6 - The Man With the Golden Gun (Would have been higher but the film is a complete anticlimax the moment Christopher Lee is dispatched)
7 - A View to a Kill

Having Moonraker being the first 007 film you saw in theater factor into the reasoning behind why it is your favorite?

Absolutely! Nostalgia is a pretty potent weapon especially one that involves James Bond.

I could not have possibly asked for a finer bigscreen introduction to the world of 007 than with Moonraker. It contained everything required to capture my young imagination and made me want to discover the other films (and then later the books) at the earliest opportunity. The reason I am here now (and even some good friends that I have made along the way) has been due to that first glimpse into Bond's world.

I am well aware of the film's shortcomings (in certain areas) but am happy to put them to oneside because of what else the film has given me over the years and continues to do so now.
