Spacey's Bond Dreams

23 June 2009 5:05 AM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey is urging James Bond bosses to consider him for a role in the next movie - because he has always dreamed of playing a 7 Things villain.

The Oscar winner played legendary comic book bad guy Lex Luthor in 2006's Superman Returns, and he now has set his sights on a role opposite Daniel Craig in the follow up to last year's Quantum of Solace.

Spacey insists playing an arch enemy of the suave secret agent is high on his list of priorities.

He says, "I would love to play the villain in Bond, but they haven't called yet."

Much as I enjoy Kevin Spacey, keep him away from James Bond for the love of God.

I think Spacey is a fantastic actor. I think his Lex Luthor was meant to be camp. I would not be totally opposed (although I'm sure there are more creative choices out there).

I will never know why people continue to suggest Hollywood stars when we know that the last three movies have included relative unknowns as the baddies. I think the next Bond villain actor will only be as famous as Toby Stephens, Mads Mikkelsen and Mathieu Amalric were before they starred in a 007 flick.

I agree with Quantumofsolace: no camp Lex Luthor-type for Bond please. Only a credible, tough and rough villain will do.

Definitely a tabloid trash story, albeit it came from a poster dealer.

Although not sure why he would have a breakfast meeting with anyone at Pinewood.

VINTAGE MOVIE POSTERS REVEALS THE PLOT FOR NEW JAMES BOND MOVIE #23
Thursday, June 25th, 2009
After a very interesting breakfast meeting at Pinewood Film Studios this morning it was revealed to me that one of the front runners in terms of plot for the new James Bond movie currently in pre-production is a reimagining (definitely NOT a straight remake) of On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. Originally filmed in 1969 with one time only Bond George Lazenby. Relatively gadget free with an excellent plot focussed around some great alpine set pieces it appears the perfect antidote to the rather lacklustre Quantum of Solace.

Stumbling block #1 currently is the ending with Bond marrying the lovely Contessa Teresa di Vicenzo. Admittedly this was an extremely short romance in the original, but like Quantum of Solace immediately following on from Casino Royale, the script writers are allowing for a honeymoon period before the new Mrs Bond meets her demise at the beginning of Bond #24. Nothing like a decent death to open a movie.

Most of you may be surpised that Bond previously so in love with Vesper in Casino Royale jumps into marriage ?? Not when you hear that Eva Green the aforementioned Vesper Lynd is due to make her second appearance in a Bond movie as Vesper’s TWIN SISTER !

Stumbling block # 2 can Daniel Craig learn to ski ?

Admittedly not really like my previous blogs, but thought this information (if they go ahead with this plotline) is to juicy to keep to myself.

Remember; You heard it hear first !

Megan Fox ‘Turns Down Bond Role’
Jul 21 2009.
Megan Fox has been lined up to play a Bond girl — but she’s already turned down the role.

The Transformers star is said to have been sounded out by Bond bosses for a forthcoming 007 movie in which she would have starred opposite Daniel Craig as one of his conquests.

“Megan might be interested in a villainous role if it was a central part of the movie but she is not interested in being just your usual type of Bond girl,” reveals a source (another website stated it was her rep) close to the actress. “She did consider an approach but she won’t be doing Bond while she’s so busy with other projects. She might consider it again in a few years time.”

Fox, 23, recently denied claims she’s set to replace Angelina Jolie in the Tomb Raider movie franchise.

“That’s a complete rumor,” Fox said, referring to reports she was set to play Lara Croft. “I haven’t been offered that. No one has even spoken to me about doing that yet.

“I think that’s a role that Angelina Jolie mastered, and I would never attempt to take that over from her.”

I remember someone at the other forums suggested that Camille and Vesper are actually sisters and the daughter of Dryden because there is a photograph of Dryden's family on his desk before Bond kills him, a photo with two dark-haired young girls in it. Never mind that this is only visible for fetmoseconds in the actual film, purple monkey dishwasher.. Then agan, this is the same person who claims CASINO ROYALE is not a reboot because Bond went rogue in DIE ANOTHER DAY and thus had to make his two kills again.

Last May Page Six made a lot of female New Yorkers happy with their scoop that both Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman were coming to Broadway for "A Steady Rain".

Well with the musical beginning previews September 10th that time is here. Daniel Craig was spotted Monday at Primola with the show's producer Barbara Broccoli (who also oversees the Bond franchise) and her husband Fred Zollo.

Interestingly enough, Daniel was spotted at Primola with Barbara in September of 2008 by Variety writer Liz Smith. There is serious speculation that the next Bond film, number 23, is filming in New York City and will feature a cameo by Upper East Side eatery.

Craig's co-star Jackman, who earned a Tony award for his work in "The Boy From Oz", has taken up residence in New York working on a number of projects. The X-Men star not afraid to go out, even with his mass of admirers, hitting places like Monkey Bar, Jean Georges Restaurant and Da Silvano with his family.

Primola is located at 1226 2nd Avenue, between 64th Street and 65th Street. Owner Guiliano Zuliani, owner, is a commonly seen walking about and pampering his patrons. The best way to make a reservation (which is highly recommended) is by calling their main line at (212) 758-1775.

Remaking the books more faithfully (as with CR) is a great idea i've been mooting for years. But they should be done in order (LALD next), or else they'll just screw them up all over again.

Please, NO Vesper twin - it'll just wreak of Eon being scared they can't make another Bond as good as CR, so they've resorted to remaking that already.

And twin, or no twin it's way too soon for OHMSS to work - he needs to have got tired of the business and be ready to leave the Service. I thought he'd only just started to like it, with his closing line to M, "I never left..."

Do the tabloids often pinch stuff from forums such as this and report it as being from insiders? I've noticed that on a few other places (Doctor Who forum for one)where they've started making stuff up to see if the hacks pick up on it. Quite often, they do...
