I love this clip of it:
Apparently it was a standard XJC which Broadspeed added their amazing bodykit to (from the race version) and slightly adapted the suspension to take the big wheels.

I have never said a bad word about Lexus, I have been dissing on the XF for looking too much like a Lexus and not enough like a Jaguar.

I believe that Bond should stick to British wheels. Great car though!
And forgive me if I'm wrrong, but wasn't this the car which brought Greene to Tosca in QoS?
yes it was, and it is British (even though owned by Ford at the time, it was still made in England)

Oh, I made a connection between Daimler and Daimler-Benz that's why I thought it was German.

It's not right, but perhaps might be the sort of thing Fleming's Bond would be driving now...
S-type R perhaps, but nothing so modified with flared out fenders etc.

According to the Gardner books, he's got his own DB5 he'd bought from Q Branch, stripped of every special gadget except the bullet proof glass.I wonder what DC's Bond is driving off-camera? Meaning, in his day-to-day life, and when not using a company Aston Martin, what is Bond driving? I think it's safe to go the Fleming route and select the Bentley that HR mentioned above. In fact, a short scene of Bond driving his own personal car might be a good way to squeeze a Bentley - or any other car - in if the producers decide to keep him in an Aston Martin whilst on the job.

Whatever Bond Drives, it MUST be British. I don't think I'm alone when convey my dissapointment at the Brosnan era vehicles. Really, BMW 750? Is there anything more bland than a mid-sized sedan? Why not get him a BMW Z5 soccer mom minivan?Love the E-type! That still works today. The other, not so much - but it IS very distinctive, yes. And I'm with you that the XF is a bit meh.
don't tell me you don't think the XF looks like a Lexus from the side view
I also have to agree. While the XF is a good looking car, it is certainly not distinctive enough as a Jag. From the side profile it is hard to tell the difference between the XF and a Lexus. While the modern Jag look is certainly...well...modern, I'm not certain they will retain classic looks and mystique in the future that older Jags do.
No way; it's pretty much the best-looking car on the road at the moment. I think the new Jags are fantastic and much better than the horrible staid old designs of the S-Type and X-Type; they were terrible, old man looking things and nearly killed the company. The XJS looked nothing like a Jag in its day either, but now it's a classic shape. The XF is one of the best looking Jags ever.
and when I refer to older Jags, I'm talking about pre-Ford Jags (although I do like the S and X types, I agree they lack the soul of the pre-Ford Jags which are the ones I really fell in love with. Keep in mind, I do like the XF and especially the new XJ, I have driven both and they are fantasic cars. I just think the older ones were more distinctive.

Why? I wasn't aware only the British make stylish, well performing cars or that people must drive cars from their own countries. Fail. If something like that bothers you, you need to learn to let things go..

Are you serious? Dalton drove a WAGON (that's about as lame as Bond's cars have got) for crying out loud in LTK and Craig drove a Ford Edge CROSSOVER in one scene in QoS. Crossovers, SUVs, and especially wagons are just as popular among "soccer moms" as mini-vans. BMW has never made a mini-van either.
The cars in the films don't define Bond. If there is a chase scene a nice car is appreciated (I'm a car nut), but the car Bond drives in a particular film isn't going to in any way change what I think about that Bond or that film.
BMW was the perfect brand for the Brosnan era. To many people (whether you do or not) the brand represents class and style. It's no Aston Martin that's for sure, but it was the perfect brand for Brosnan's "playboy" 1990s era Bond. The Vanquish was nice a change in DAD though only because of the classic Bond-Aston Martin connection.

It breaks down all the time and the company went bust so they don't make them anyone.
A detail I didn't know... Thanks.

Sorry, had to say it...you see, I drive an alfa
And I have to agree with what some people said, keep it british for Bond. Only because Bond is a british cultural icon. It just makes sence...and you guys know it. Only because we drive german or italian, doesn´t mean HMServant wouldn´t want to drive a homemade brand.

Really. How many SUVs have rear ends that look like this?
