yes this has been done before, but I don't mind seeing it again, views change over a period of time so I imagine this thread or ones like it, will be popular for infinity.
My views (unchanged in the last few years) are:
1. DC should stay as Bond for some time till he becomes the definitive Bond.
2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott
. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott
. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott
2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott . Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott . Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott . Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott . Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott

. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott
2. Dougray Scott 2. Dougray Scott
So I take it you like Dougray Scott.
Watched Red Eye tonight and actually think Cillian Murphy would make an interesting Bond. He's only 32 now, so by the time DC's finished, he should be the right age for the role.
Eh... I just uh... I uh... duh... um... uh... yeah... but not... really... I just can't picture....
He's just too much of a dweeb.

Some facts:
- Danish
- Just turned 38 (could be too old but we don't know how long Craig is staying)
- Played supporting roles in films like "Black Hawk Down", "Kingdom of Heaven", "Wimbledon" and "Firewall" - so not that well known but not an Ewan Stewart either

He's 15 years younger than Craig, and he came in 2nd in the 2005-casting behind Craig. So I think the producers will try to get him when Craig leaves.
But he has some interessting projects on the way. He's starring in the 2009-Woody Allen-movie.
If he becomes a big star before Craig ends the role, he won't become Bond. They will not take someone big or well known.

You've my vote too! (not sure what my vote means to EON, though... )
I watched a couple episodes of Mad Men, and couldn't help thinking that the Don Draper character makes me think the hell of a lot to the Fleming Bond. I don't think he'd work for the contemporary Bond, but if the BBC or whatever was ever to produce a Fleming based Bond period piece, I'd like to see this guy as Bond.

That is, unless a new guy comes along at that particular time.
It definitely will be interesting if they go back to the dark haired, more conventionally handsome Bond after Craig.
My personal guess is that Bond will get a lighter touch after the Craig era - just because these things come and go in waves ;-)

But im sure the Producers are not gonna go for these two! They'll bring an unknown not yet on the scene or somebody we havent thought of!

Meyers actually has that cruel look to him, which reminds me of Flemming's illustration of Bond.
We certianly can't be talking about the same people. Nothing remotely cruel about his looks.

I honestly don't know, in which case. I'd never have imagined Daniel Craig as Bond #6 in my wildest dreams so trying to call the next one is nigh on impossible.

Naaaaaaah, just kidding!
About Henry Cavill and Jonathan Rhys Meyer, having now finished watching The Tudors, I can't see either of them as Bond. Really not.
He might get "riper", but for the moment, I see a mannequin rather than an actor in Cavill.
And Rhys Meyer's Henry VIII simply lacks natural authority, which I supposed was a feature of the character due to his young age in season 1, but became slightly annoying in season 2...

I think you could cast a whole Bond film out of MAD MEN, easily, and the guy playing Draper is so 'on' for retro-Bond it is downright scary.
But when he doesn't have his hair parted right, he looks decidedly off.

I'm with you trevanian! I'm really surprised we don't have a "Mad Men" thread yet in the general discussion forum. To me it oozes the 60s Bond atmosphere, and I think "Fleming's Bond" at almost every scene.
And the Don Draper character is, simply put, the living image of Fleming's own commissioned portrait of Bond, up to the coma of black hair. The only thing missing is the scar down the right cheek!

Right on! Jon Hamm as Don Draper looks more like FlemingĀ“s Bond than any actor I have ever seen. If he were British and younger he would be the perfect successor to Craig.

And he's somewhat at the top of the pile in terms of prior consideration.

Henry Cavill. No question.

Another reason why he is certainly a major player in the "next Bond" stakes.

Very interesting choice. He's excellent in CONTROL. Good call, Agent 76.
