I do not see a thing wrong with Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, he has balls..grit..and can be psychotic if the need arises..not a bad pick for the future.
My top picks as Bond.
1. Matthew Macfadyen
2. Jonathan Rhys-Meyers
3. James Purefoy
4. Clive Owen
5. Out of left field..Kevin McKidd..like Craig..he has the tenaciousness Bond needs.
One film I wouldnt mind seeing recreated. Goldfinger. Next to Casino Royale and The Living Daylights, My favorite films. Period.

I see Henry Cavill and/or Ben Barnes.
I saw Prince Caspian yesterday and was quite impress with Ben Barnes. He is 26 right now so he should be just the right age when Craig hangs up his PPK.

Edit: I didnt read any of the posts above mine, but now that I did I see I'm not the only one who is liking Tennant. Even without putting on any muscle I think he'd do good, complete opposite from Craig methinks

Would that be to much of a risk these days, it worked in the old days?

From the last round of contenders, I also think that Rupert Friend would prove to be a possibility as well.

What about David Tennant? No seriously, he could play it more for laughs and we could have another Roger Moore style Bond.
I agree. If you think about it the new Bond contrasts with the last Bond. You have Dalton to contrast with Roger, then Brosnan was more of a Roger-style, then we go back to gritty Craig. So I think they're gonna go with something more comedic and spy-fi (save our souls).
Tennant sounds OK. Simon Pegg would be interesting. I still like Ewan McGregor though.

Yes. David Tennant as Bond! Or Kevin McKidd.
Mharkin007, are you naturally stupid? this the lamest idea ever.
Pierce Brosnan should be Bond Number 7!!!
BrozzaBond I think you need to take it down a notch. No need to be a jerk.

BrozzaBond, I dont know what your problem is, I've seen your previous posts and all I can say is that you repulse and disgust me. And how dare you offend me over my condition. I was born with autism and I see CBn as a really warm and nice place to be. It's Trolls like you that don't even deserve an account on this brilliant site.
Yes, I'm autistic, But I'll be damned if I am going to sit back and let you insult me like that. Me and MkB and every other innocent person you've insulted have done more for CBn than you ever have and ever will do. We're real Bond fans, not you. You disgust me.
EDIT: Oh... I see the mods have done the right thing and discharged you... CBn has become a better place again, and I now feel comfortable posting on these boards. Farewell BrozzaBond, crawl back under your brige. You... you son of a bitch

I'm glad that's over. I think everyone came together pretty well and kept their cool as best as possible under fire.
To the topic at hand, I ran the Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Bond idea by my sister, for a non-fan's take, and she thought JRM could pull it off, though at first I wasn't sure. She's right when I think about it and he's got time on his side. I guess deep down inside, I'll always see JRM as Brian Slade.

Just ignore people like him, MHarkin. They exist online only to make people angry and have serious insecurity issues.

I agree with HH007 and sidspappy that the next Bond - if there is a next Bond - will come out of left field.
I agree as well. Bond #7 will be a complete surprise when his name is first brought up in the discussion for the role, IMO. Although, that is assuming that there will be a successor to Daniel Craig, which I'm not convinced that there will be.
I follow the same line of thought...I really feel that 007's time is limited. Dan may just be Eon's swansong. But what a swansong!

... which makes me think: maybe we could add another avatar image, together with the Bond actors. What do you think of this one, BrozzaBond?
That's just simply uncanny...as is this man...

"It’s amazing what you can do with Photoshop these days"!
Very well done! A pity they didn't correct the squint. And to be faithful, this Bond should have a half-hairy chest, on the left...

Regarding this subject; if they don't come up with another person who hasn't made a name for himself yet, well ladies and gents, then my vote goes to P.Diddy.
Oh, only joking. McKidd or Rhys-Meyers could be up to it for what it takes to be; the EON's Next James Bond *inspired by some British chap name Flemmmingggg*

What about the Aussie actor who apparently came in "second"..and I'd say Sean Brosnan but he was born in the US. Pity, he has the looks.
Maybe Craigs' half brother, Harry, will be old enough then, he is in acting school by all accounts.

Barbara is what 40ish, so barring any unforeseeable accidents or health problems she could produce Bond for the next 25 to 30 years.
Barbara is 48, and could indeed produce the Bond movies for another 20 years or so. Michael G Wilson is 66, and not sure how much longer he will be involved.
I would like them both to carry on as usual for the foreseeable future, as I believe they've made the right decisions 95% of the time.

Would love to see you as Bond. But you'd need to fight off Bryce (wanker) for the gig.Me. I've already been approached by EON!
Craig for me came out of the blue. I'm sure EON will pull another Pulitzer when the time comes.
Cheers,
Ian
