Do you think Leiter will sport a beard in Bond 22?
I think he probably will since the beard wasn't for another one of Wright's films filming at the same time.

LOL!I hear the beard is being a bit of a diva and is asking for more money, so EON have ceased negotiations.

Articles galore about how he just 'doesn't have' what David Hedison brought to the role. Misers begging for Hugh Jackman to take over. Clever twistings of the phrase 'keep the fruit' into 'he's a fruit,' etc...

He'd better not touch the damn thing, or else we'll soon see a new website pop up - www.jeffreywrightisnotfelixleiter.com

Actually, there's an active campaign for either Paul Giamatti or Steve Buscemi to take over the role.

Well obviously, I can think of no other actor nearly as menacing as Giamatti...did you SEE 'Fred Claus?' *shiver*

I didn't, but I did see Sideways, American Splendor, and Confidence, amongst others, and I think he'd be a great Felix Leiter. But we already have Jeffrey Wright, who is fine in the role.

Unless EON introduces some plotpoint about Leiter losing his powers without his beard, Samson-style, I think we're set either way.

Cinematic Bond fans should not be too shocked at this: Ian Fleming had Leiter use a similarly severe disguise in Live and Let Die to infilitrate (unsuccessfully) Mr Big's world, though the updated, 2006 effort of Casino Royale was indeed the most significant.

I think most of you are failing to realise that the beard was part of the overall disguise that enabled "Leiter" to be unrecognised at Casino Royale as his usual tall, straw haired Texan self.

I quite like the beard to be honest. Plus, without it, Jeffrey Wright looks dramatically younger than Daniel Craig.
Agreed. His appearance in Lady in the Water is an example.
