This is a sequel to: Felix Leiter's Beard

Do you think Leiter will sport a beard in Bond 22?

I think he probably will since the beard wasn't for another one of Wright's films filming at the same time.

He might shave it off so he can be in disguise.

I hear the beard is being a bit of a diva and is asking for more money, so EON have ceased negotiations.

He'd better not touch the damn thing, or else we'll soon see a new website pop up - www.jeffreywrightisnotfelixleiter.com

Articles galore about how he just 'doesn't have' what David Hedison brought to the role. Misers begging for Hugh Jackman to take over. Clever twistings of the phrase 'keep the fruit' into 'he's a fruit,' etc...

No thanks unless he's been captured by Iraqis, Iranians or North Koreans for fourteen months.

Actually, there's an active campaign for either Paul Giamatti or Steve Buscemi to take over the role. :D

I quite like the beard to be honest. Plus, without it, Jeffrey Wright looks dramatically younger than Daniel Craig.

I didn't, but I did see Sideways, American Splendor, and Confidence, amongst others, and I think he'd be a great Felix Leiter. But we already have Jeffrey Wright, who is fine in the role.

I was surprised how good Jeffrey Wright turned out to be, I certainly wasn't expecting it. As long as Daniel wants to do them, and as long as Jeffrey wants to do them, I say keep them both in there.

I think Jeffrey Wright looks better (and tougher) with the beard. As for the likelihood of the beard returning, I say it's a near certainty. Since Bond 22 continues right on from Casino Royale it stands to reason that Felix Leiter will look the same, and, as a result, his beard will return.

Honestly, I say we leave it Wright's concern. I could go either way about it, although I will agree he does look quite a bit younger without it.

Unless EON introduces some plotpoint about Leiter losing his powers without his beard, Samson-style, I think we're set either way. :D

I'm not so sure the beard will be returning. I hear the beard has formed a rock band with Connery's toupee and they are doing a revival of the play Hair.

BREAKING NEWS - Jeffrey Wright's beard reportedly in on-set fight with Giancarlo Giannini's moustache. Moustache refuses to film scenes with beard, threatens to quit. Daniel Craig's ears could not be reached for comment.

I think most of you are failing to realise that the beard was part of the overall disguise that enabled "Leiter" to be unrecognised at Casino Royale as his usual tall, straw haired Texan self. Clearly, he used the same techniques as Jolson and many actors playing Othello, before adding the beard for completeness.

Cinematic Bond fans should not be too shocked at this: Ian Fleming had Leiter use a similarly severe disguise in Live and Let Die to infilitrate (unsuccessfully) Mr Big's world, though the updated, 2006 effort of Casino Royale was indeed the most significant. :D

The beard is clearly a disguise, and therefore not real.

Because the real one's in his pocket.

Agreed. His appearance in Lady in the Water is an example.
