You may remember my 31_days drabbles from last September; I'm doing it again for April.

For those who don't remember, 31_days is a LiveJournal community that offers up a theme for each day of the month, for which you can write a story about any characters/fandom you choose...it just needs to have something to do with the theme. I wrote 31 James Bond stories and I LOVED IT. Look for the same thing again....the deadline is midnight of each day.

Medium Rare
Theme: Dinner for three
Rating: PG
Blurb/Summary: Somewhere between the saut

Great, I love the line 'modern France was commercıalısm, it was overpriced food, it was darkly tanned wiry women over fifty who thought a leopard-print design made it acceptable to display their brasserie straps to the world'

If you post each of the themes as they come I might do them on a different date and post them here.

TF is back!

Excellent, I loved the previous series.

Who knows, if inspiration knocks at my door I might join you for a day or two.

Loved this one, TortillaFactory. These themes are terrific and inspired. Leads to some off-beat, but all the better for it, stories in my opinion.

Thanks, everyone. In case anybody wants to see the themes, they're all posted on the community info page already.

Heh, "offbeat" is just the right word to describe them, I think.

Off to work on today's...

A BMB-centric drabble...odd. Not sure I like it. I am writing from Jessica's point of view, which is not really something I've done.

And So Forth
Theme: Etc.
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Veni, vidi, vici? But they'll never get to "veni," not if she has anything to say about it.

Well I'm going to try something short (no more then three hundred words, do the math Joyce  ) using the theme 'Venus loves Mars' it is the seventh here now, so I should be able to crank something out by midnight. (Not that I'll enter it on that site, I'll probably just host it on fanfiction.net [scum hole as it is, my work might actually appear good there])

Oh goodness, no. It wasn't meant to be. Truth be told I think Tania stood out in my mind more than anyone else when I was writing that.

Good luck, Robert!

It won't be much (and it will be a day overdue in theory) just a bit of a round up of the Honeychile-Bond relationship, and a mention of her husband to be.

Well I put my 'And Venus Loved Mars' attempt on the shelf, it was pretty bad and needed a redux, however I did write a short that could fit into the 9th's category.

Death For Breakfast

Short!

Honestly? I saw the twist coming immediately, mostly because of the reference to "the dark haired man" - hardly anyone would refer to Bond that way. So for me, the twist wasn't a twist, therefore the story fell flat. This doesn't mean it's bad. I would suggest changing it from "the dark haired man" to "he." This removes much of the suspicions that the audience might have as to the identity of the man, since they will assume "he" is Bond.

Still, I'm not sure that one twist is enough to hold up even a short-short-short story. Maybe a few more moody details - scene setters. Too many may give away the twist, I realise that, but perhaps you could describe the taste of the salty bacon or the groggy feeling in the man's head from that "enduring hangover." It reads a bit like a screenplay now, and some Flemingesque details would fix that.

I'm not surprised. It has a very Film!Bond feel to it. The pun solidifies things.

(I picture Bond chewing on toothpicks a fair amount, though. Bit of an oral fixation.)

(Look, it's not dirty. It's NOT.)

Oral fixations are considered to contribute to over-eating, being overly talkative, smoking addictions and alcoholism (known as "oral dependent" qualities). Other symptoms include a sarcastic or "biting" personality (known as "oral sadistic" qualities).
