Xen,
I had the same problem on some other stories I attempted to download from AJB. For some reason, I actually have to save them to my harddrive, and then open them with Adobe from outside my browser. If you go directly to open, you get the empty file message after Acrobat starts up. Hope this helps.

Yeah, that will help a lot Clinkeroo. Thanks.

Evidently, I'll have plenty of reading time come Wednesday. :)

Looks like Old Man Winter will die another day too.

I shall try that as well! Thanks for the tip. :)

Saving it to your hard drive is always the best solution. That way you can read it offline too.

Ps. Don't forget the discussion of this fan fic this Sunday!
PPs. If it's not too much trouble (and if it's possible) could a moderator please move all the posts after my first one to my other FFRC thread. I want to try and keep this one for purely discussion of the Fic. Cheers

Don't worry about it deth. We'll be doing short stories for the first few weeks and then move on to the longer pieces.

Discussion will be tonight after 7pm (GMT). Unfortunately there is a hitch with the thread at the moment but this should be fixed before then.
Hope to see all of you there!

This might be a little hard to do with the many time zones we live in. I'll try and be there, if I can. If not, all I'll say, is that they were great short stories! Looking forward to the next choice, Tanger! :)

That's why a tried to set it at a time when everyone would be able to contribute. You don't all have to be there at the same time, that's just when the discussion starts.
Everyone can then contribute to it when they come online.

Hey all.
Just a quick note; problem solved (thanks to Xenobia :)) and the discussion will be tonight. I will kick-it off at around 8pm tonight and then you can all drop in at anytime and post what you thought.
In case anyone's still unsure it'll basically take the shape of a regular thread rather than a normal move/response discussion but we should still be able to discuss our thoughts about the FanFics.

http://debrief.comma...showtopic=13657

Also look out tomorrow as I will be posting details about this weeks fan fic. All developments can be found in this thread so remember to keep checking back here.

Well, judging by everyone's reaction it seems as though you quite enjoyed our first fan fic. Please do feel free to add anymore comments or elaborate on any other comments that you have made in thread.

Anyway, here is this week's fan fic. It's quite similar in some respects to the Monte Carlo Trilogy and so that is why I felt it would be appropriate to do this piece next. Again, it is quite a short piece that shouldn't take long to read but should have plenty of features that we can discuss. Here is the thread with all the info about the fan fic and where it can be downloaded. It is another Adobe file so I suggest that you download it to your hard-drive rather than read it online as some systems are not compatible this way.

http://debrief.comma...topic=13847&hl=

Please remember not to post in the thread until this Sunday when the discussion will be held. Any comments, questions or suggestions please post here and not in the other thread as this is for discussion of the fanfic ONLY.

I hope you'll enjoy this one and I hope we can have some more great discussion.

Just a quick note from a non-FFRC member: Can someone try to make sure the author knows this discussion is going on? I know I would appreciate knowing if people were discussing my fanfic on another website.

I have to say that after the kind response to my trilogy, that I wish to join this merry like-minded group. I hope it isn't too late for me to join. :)

P.S. I may not always be able to contribute as I am a very busy person, but look forward to chipping in when I can. Plus reading good quality fan fiction is a nice way for me to relax. :) so even if I can't be a full member -can you let me be an honorary one?

Of course you can join! We're always open to new members. And It'll be great to have an actual writer in the club.

You can also help us inform the fine folks over at AJB about when we are discussing their FanFics. If you want to contact Dortmunder, tell him that we'll be discussing his fanfic this Sunday if he wants to come and join in!

Unfortunately I won't be able to contribute to the discussion until the Monday evening as I'm travelling up country at the weekend on business. But you will see my comments I promise. :)
