Hey guys.
As most of you know from my post a few weeks ago I am currently addicted to Bond fan fiction. There are so many good pieces out there that deserve to be read by all Bond fans.
To begin with I decided that I'd read and review every piece I could get my hands on. But then I came up with a better idea- I'm thinking about starting A Fan Fiction Reader's Club similar to the book club that was started not long ago.

What would happen would be I would select a piece each week or two weeks depending on it's length and then we'd go away and read them then all come together and review the piece or share ideas about what we thought about it. I'd probably set the piece on a Monday and then we'd discuss it on the following Sunday or depending on it's length such as with short stories, set one day reviewed the next. You get the idea.

This is basically a thread to see how many people would be interested in this and if I get more than 10 then it'll probably go ahead, depending on what the staff say.

If you're interested just sign your name here and we'll see if I can get it started, hopefully next week.

Rgds

I would too. This is not a bad idea, if it will get my Fan Fic read, and other deserving pieces, it would be worth it.

I think that is a dandy idea. I also love fan fiction.

And how about if you come across a really good one - you can post the address - I find, especially with Bond fiction - some are great and some are trully shocking - so it would be nice to have everyone's recommendations.

Cool! 4 members already. If we keep going at this rate we might be able to start this Monday.

More details will follow once we've got enough people.

I am in, with a caveat. My work load tends to shift drastically, so depending on the length, I might not be able to read everything, but I will certainly try.

Indeed Tanger, this is a very busy school year for me, so I may not to get in them all, but I'll do my best, I'm hoping it goes well! :)

I would indeed love to join, but I'm also a bit busy at the moment and I tend to use my free time for writing my own fanfiction. But it does sound appealing... let me sleep on it.

I'll leave FFRC recruitment open for another 24 hours or so and then perhaps we can begin tomorrow. I may just start with a short story to begin with as a sort of trial run, just to see how things work out and then we can take it from there.

Don't worry about not having the time or whatever to read them all, you don't have to read all of them. Also the longer one's will take longer to read so we'll have longer reading periods for those.
Once we've started proper I'll outline the basic format it will take.

Xenobia, do you think Mr. * would mind doing us a logo similar to the Book Club one?

I'll just wait and see how many more people sign up before I decide about anything like that I think. It'd seem stupid to have a logo if there were only 8 or so people.

Well I sent out a load of PMs last night but not many of those people have replied.
Here's the member list so far:

DanMan
Johnboy007
Dr. Niles Crane

Xenobia
Joyce Carrington
CommanderBond

I think that's enough to give us a good start.

So ladies and gents, if you'll please proceed to this thread then we can begin:

http://debrief.comma...ST&f=80&t=13657

This will give you details of this weeks fan fiction and this is also where we will be discussing it next Sunday. Please try and refrain from posting there until then as I would prefer it if all discussion of the FanFic took place at the relatively same time.

I've picked quite a short piece to begin with, just as a trial run and then we'll move on to longer pieces as we progress.
This is one that I read recently that I thoroughly enjoyed and I'm sure you will too.

Anyway, enjoy and any questions just post them here.

I'm just trying things out at the moment, trying to figure out what works best. We'll just have to see but maybe in the future I might just leave the forums open for comment at anytime, rather than a specific time if that'd work better.

The pieces that I've posted are no more than 10 pages each so you should be able to finish them in time.

One thing I've left out is if you have already read one of the Fan Fiction pieces then you can either skip it or reqquaint yourself with it.

Look good Tanger, I actually tried reading the first one this very minute, however, I have just gotten a new internet provider and none of the programs (even downloading Adobe Acrobat Reader) will work. I hope to resolve this problem soon and commence reading these! :)

I read them. :) I won't go into detail too much here, not until everyone's read it.

Overall, the idea for the trilogy is good, and so is most of the atmosphere, but what it lacks is depth and detail. It could have been a lot better.

There are some spelling and grammar mistakes in there unfortunately.

I also find it quite amusing that most of the villains' lines begin with 'Ah Mister Bond'. :)

That is all so far. :)

It's quite a good little piece to pass the time though isn't it Joyce?

Oh yes, that it was. Good enough to postpone my shower of this morning. :)

Once I download the novel, and Adobe opens, it tells me the file does not exist.
