Let's hope that Daniel Craig can rescue this series as well.

Wonder if Myers will spoof the whole gritty reboot thing that has become so prevalent. Wouldn't mind seeing that.

I thought Johnny English would be doing that, with that Reborn movie? Wouldn't that be redundant?

Anyhow, I think it's far past a time for needing Austin Powers... but, then again, didn't they say that about Bond? ;)

Ironically, my son and I were just talking earlier this week about the "time being right" for another one.

There's a lot to be said about clarity of vision, competent management, and respect for audience interests. The Austin Powers films were, in my opinion, remarkably consistent in a way that the first 3 Indiana Jones films were not. I have every faith that, despite the time interval, Number 4 will be as good or better than the ones it's following.

Um, I don't think we needed him in the first place, it's just a comedy series.

Please do not compare the Austin Powers movies with the Indiana Jones series. My eyes hurt just by reading the nonsense you just posted.

Nikki Finke's Deadline Hollywood site suggests Austin Powers 4 isn't as far along as has been reported.

It's been around so long the title of the thread needs to be updated to Austin Powers 4 (201?)

UPDATE: And the update has taken place.

A scenario I'd like to see played out in AP4 is Scott Evil trying to be evil but not quite being evil enough. Therefore he goes back in time and brings back Evil Dr. Evil. This leads to an epic battle of Austin Powers and Good Dr. Evil vs Scott Evil and Evil Dr. Evil. Having Austin Power and Good Dr. Evil team up could lend the film a buddy cop comedy feel, like Lethal Weapon or Rush Hour. Despite Good Dr. Evil's best intentions a quantum of evil still remains.

I'm sure some non hardcore Bond fans were saying the same thing after DAD and QOS. LOL.

The fourth Powers film must be called FOR YOUR THIGHS ONLY!

From IMDB...

<i>AUSTIN POWERS SET TO RETURN FOR FOURTH MOVIE

Mike Myers is reportedly set to make one final outing as spoof spy Austin Powers - despite promising the kitsch character would never grace the silver screen again. The Wayne's World comic is working on a script and there are plans to go into pre-production in the spring, with the shoot taking place at Shepperton and Pinewood studios in England before the end of the year. Myers will once again take on writing and directing duties and will star as a variety of characters, including Austin, Dr. Evil and Fat Bastard. In the fourth movie in the series, Austin will be reunited with all his leading ladies from the previous three films: Liz Hurley, Heather Graham and Beyonc

I'm excited to see a new AP adventure... especially since Mike Myers apparently is no longer able to make any (even relatively) good movies without the International Man of Mystery being involved. I can't even begin to explain how much I HATED The Love Guru... I guess 'hate' isn't the right word, as that would infer that I cared enough to have an emotion towards that 'film'.

The first Austin Powers will always be the best, but I can't wait to see the inevitable 're-boot' gags that will kick off the film and I want to see Scott Evil finally be evil... whenever this movie happens to come out, I'll be there!

Looking forward to another Austin Powers flick. I just hope it isn't full of annoying cameos again. I don't like how all the former girls are returning. That Liz Hurley really gets around! It makes sense to have a fourth film. We need to see what becomes of Scott.

Myers should audition for some serious roles. I thought he was quite good in Studio 54. Didn't like the film though.

Actually I felt The Spy Who Shagged Me was the weakest of the three and Goldmember was a step up.
