Pity the first didn't make much of a box-office splash.

No angle to this question - just interested to see.

Serious question - why didn't they work?
I imagine they didn't work (if indeed they didn't) largely because of shoddy, half-baked scripting and direction.
Of course, I expect you'd have preferred an answer from someone who'd actually seen LAWS OF ATTRACTION and AFTER THE SUNSET, but answers to your question seemed thin on the ground, so....

,29 March 2005 - 07:28]Sadly I don't see much of a chance, but Brett Ratner has expressed his desire to film a sequel to After The Sunset.
I'm one of the few in the minority I bet that wouldn't mind seeing such a film.
*Holds hand up*
I'd love a sequel to After The Sunset.

I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel to After The Sunset either. It was a great way to spend an hour and a half, and it was just a fun movie to watch.

I thought this was interesting: The "French Poster"
I like how it appears more white in color than the other ones. Good posters all around for this movie.

Plenty of fun; I think it'll hold up better on repeat viewings. One thing I really noticed on this, my second viewing, is the film's cinematography. It's simply superb. The film looks amazing on DVD.
The DVD seems to be doing pretty well over here. It's still #1 on the charts, having been released close to three weeks ago and with films like The Incredibles, Meet the Fockers and The Phantom of the Opera also new to DVD.
It has quite a haul of special features, too, for a single-disc release. There's a documentary that clocks in at well over an hour, entitled Before, During and After The Sunset, which covers the film's production. No real interviews, though. There's an almost-20-minute clip from The Charlie Rose Show that fills in that gap, though. There's a mass of deleted and alternate scenes. One curious extra has director Brett Ratner interviewing a real jewel thief. A decent change of pace from the usual DVD bonuses. Speaking of which, the set is rounded out with an audio commentary, a blooper reel, some always-interesting visual effects shot comparisons, the film's theatrical trailer, a couple of TV spots and at least two easter eggs, I found.
Well recommended for fans of the film. Particularly at around $26, which is what I paid.

Go to the 'Special Features' Highlight the menu entry of 'Interview With A Jewel Thief' and then press the 'Left' arrow key on your remote control. This will highlight a gem at the top of the screen. Press 'enter' now and you will be treated to a very funny practical joke director Brett Ratner played on Pierce Brosnan during the shoot of the movie.
Another Easter Egg can be found on the first page of the 'Special Features' section. Go there and highlight the menu entry of the 'Before, During and After the Sunset' documentary. Now press the 'right' arrow key on your remote control to highlight a gem in the bottom left corner of the screen. Press 'Enter' now and you will see a clip of PB and Salma Hayek during the scene when they talk into the bug they discovered in their house, pretending to make love.

The Making Of is superb. The outtake where PB takes a hit, before Don Cheadle has even moved his gun to knock him out.

DAD sunglasses in the deleted tennis scene ?
Here is some trivia:
When PB (I mean Max) is going up the cruise ship gangway, his son and Irish assistant are too.

I think this one's the Chinese poster...

No idea where this is from, but it's very cool.

Also find it interesting the Australian promotional material uses the original poster artwork, but Brozzie isn't wearing his sunglasses.
Australian DVD cover compared to the US one-sheet...

The Australian one-sheet, which I have hanging on my wall, is the same as our DVD cover, with Brozzie sans glasses. Just a minor alteration I thought was interesting.
