EBGAMES.COM says its Microsoft who's making Halo...

Doesn't suprise me, they made the XBOX version too (not to mention the XBOX itself).

Suffice it to say I was shocked to see Microsoft going in the console buisness (though not very suprised.. they're in practically everything else pc related... and em.. this includes consoles cause its basicly a computer..).

doh. my mistake. i havent checked IGN for a long time (ever since you needed a subscription to get to the "good" stuff... which happend to be the stuff I always went to get info on...).

I though MS would've done this game :/ Does MS develop games? Or do they only publish? (cause I got FreeLancer demo and the only movie I see is the microsoft games logo...).

i was just thinking that the new halo engine might be a good engine for them to use in the next bond game because if it looks like the xbox version then it will have good graphics and it also allows you to get inside of vehicals including multiplayer

Problem with this is that the engine they're working on halo pc... (im assuming they're currently working on it... if its to be released in the next few months)... would most likely be outdated by then... So they gotta keep up and we all know how hard it is to keep up with technology (computer tech).

Most games now are farely good. I can see a halo game on anyone of them. Same goes with bond. The Unreal 2 engine looks awesome (u2 graphics are awesome). But you can't drive any vehicles... (well, like nightfire, the character drives them in the cinematics...).

yeah they drive them in the cutscenes but i dont think those cutscenes really use the engine because they are just avi files, and how old is the half life engine?

Yah. But take half-life (i have no idea how old it is..) it uses the game engine as its movies. Same goes for Jedi Knight II (not all of them, but most of them). Westwood gave up making cinematics, they had real people up until C&C Renegade, which had cartoons (well, CGI). C&C Generals has more of those 'game engine' movies.

Game engine movies (dunno if there's another term for it..) have those letterboxes that appear on the screen and then the cinematic is actually a map, coded to do the movie.

Deus Ex has this feature, as well as many other games.

yeah i know that a lot of games use the actual games engine for the ingame cinematics but nightfire didnt probably because the of the limitations of the engine but they just look so damn blurry sometimes

In-game cinematics are definately better than the alternatives. No One Lives Forever 2 utilized them beautifully. Nightfire's character models were actually quite good compared to the rest of the scenery (in fact, I think some of the same models were used in the AVIs) so I've got no idea why they didn't do this in Nightfire.

Am I the only one who finds driving levels to be dull and annoying? I really don't see why people feel the need to have them in a Bond game.

i dont miss them, when i buy a first person shooter i want to have a first person shooter but they are always welcome because i think that they add to the game to make it more like the movies which are famous for excellent car chases

Im not much into car driving myself, but bond isnt just a car, its a tank. :)

All those gadgets and stuff. Bond has a car in every movie, you should be able to enjoy it in the games.

The reason that we (well, I anyways..) dont find it dull is probably cause of the fact that vehicles weren't included in the PC version of Night Fire...

I prefer PCs over consoles. the pc has joysticks, keyboards and mouse.. the console you got 2 joysticks and like 5 buttons....

Yah, be sure you have the recomended specs. Even though they say 'minimum' requirements, I had a few games that I met the 'minimum' (actually, more than min but less than recomended). They kept giving me problems.

Ofcourse.. I did the most drastic thing I could do, get a 2.2GHZ so I'll be more than 'recomended' for a long time (6 months.. :) )

Be sure you have the latest drivers for ur hardware (video, sound.. I never ran into a problem due to keyboard drivers outdated...)
