Alright everyone,
I'm putting out an APB on the tracklistings for the expanded bond scores due out in less than 2 weeks. I'm very curious as to why EMI and Lukas Kendall over at film score monthly are keeping this information such a secret. First person to find out the tracklisting(s) (preferably before 1/11) will get a prize, not sure what that is just yet, but I'll think of something.

I'm hanging on this too. To quote another famous series "I've got a bad feeling about this." I'm worried they may be pushed back or something and I don't want to be disappointed.

Hope that helped.

Thanks for the effort Stromberg, but alas, those are the tracklistings for the
"expanded" bootleg scores out there compiled from the originals, mono tracks from laser discs, and the bond back in action cd's. I know for sure b/c I own expanded LALD bootleg, the sound is absolutely terrible.

Ah, that's the stuff I had in mind, wasn't sure of which movies those bootleg soundtracks exist. That list seemed a bit odd to me, especially when I saw that FRWL expanded version. But I thought I'd give it a try

gkgyver, you don't have any information if or when (or where) those soundtracks will be available in Germany, do you? amazon.de doesn't list them and I couldn't find them nowhere else, so guess we'll have to pay "extended shipping rates" once more.

Good news all...

While checking a similar post over at my movie music message board:
http://www.moviemusic.com

I got a response from Chris Neel who works over in the MGM music department. He basically said not to worry, that these are DEFINATELY coming out on the scheduled date, he also had one other thing to say (while not huge, got me even more excited), I'll let you see for yourselves, here is the response:

<http://www.moviemusi...cons/icon14.gif>

I've been searching everywhere on the net for the tracklistings. Chris, you out there? Can you give us this information??

Rich

It's Capitol's call to put up tracklistings. They do have an announcement up on the www.hollywoodandvine.com website with the release dates. Be patient. Thunderball,YOLT, DAF, OHMSS, and LALD all sound magnificent. I mean freakin' stunning.

Chris

I don't know about everyone else, I can't wait to hear these remastered, if Chris says they sound wonderful, I'll take his word for it.

A hearty round of applause and a case of turtle wax, Neil. Thanks for the info.

Now I just hope a Best Buy or Circuit City in my area will be carrying these.

Now that we know what some of the tracklistings are, anybody have any suggestions on where they will be available in the USA, as far as stores go.

I went to a Best Buy on Friday and asked one of the clerks if it was coming in and he seemed pretty clueless in claiming they didn't have any as far as he could tell. The main reason I went to Best Buy is I have gift certificates left from Christmas I'd like to spend.

The only other stores I have around are a Circuit City and a few mall music stores, which will not be as likely to carry them. What I wouldn't give for one of those Virgin Megastores.

Going out on a limb because I don't know for sure, but Borders Books and Music tends to do a great job with soundtracks. They'll probably stock at least 1 copy of each. Best Buy and Circuit City often use music as loss leaders and tend to not get less "popular" releases on the shelf as quickly.

There are reviews of DAF and OHMSS over at the john barry site: http://www.johnbarry.org.uk look under articles and reviews. It sounds like some of the other original tracks have been expanded :), so not only do we get unreleased tracks all together.. but we get several extended tracks as well. Also, for all of you here in the states that might be worried about not being able to readily find these scores, rest easy, I've just called my local Barnes and Noble and they will be getting all of them in for tuesdays release. In 48 hours I'll have these discs in my hands.. can't wait!!! By the way, here is the complete tracklisting for Live and Let Die.... hmmmmm... guess I'll have to reward myself as well. lol.

Thats a great cue Boozer! So is the "Boat Chase". I've got the live and let die expanded bootleg (which is in mono sound) and I LOVE both of those tracks, can't wait to hear them finally remastered in all of their stereo glory. Wish Tuesday would get here faster!

I feel exactly the same way, boeserzwilling! I don't care for much of the LALD score but I love that piece...I often pop in the DVD just for it. The scene with it was executed perfectly, too...the pan am 747 taking off, Solitaire with the cards...one of the best location transitions in the series.

Thanks for the info neil!

Alright boys and girls, I'm listening to LALD right now and listened to pieces of DAF and OHMSS on the way home (yes I know it's almost 1 am here, now I'm very much awake!). Thank God Tower Records stays open till midnight to sell tuesdays releases. These puppies sound like they were recorded yesturday, it's absolutely amazing. The discs sound so good that you could quite literally take tracks from these and put them into Bond 21 and the audience would think it was new stuff. I mean it folks, these are every bond fans dream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to pinch myself in the car on the way home just to make sure i wasn't dreaming..... seriously... they're that good!!! Oh and JackChase, you're gonna love LALD man! The boat chase has some added music with a "wah wah" brassy effect in typical bond fashion. I'll be posting full reviews of LALD, DAF, and OHMSS hopefully within the next week or two. I'll definately have a review of some kind up by the end of the week. I doubt I'll get much sleep tonight, but you know what? It's damn worth it! lol.

I'm just hoping I can get out today to look for some of these on my lunch break from work, if anyone is selling them in my area. It's just after 9 a.m. here and we're getting hit with yet another round of snow. I live in Ohio, but it may as well be the Arctic Circle with all the bad weather we've had this year.
