I'm an American and I agree completely. I don't mind American actors and actresses at all in a Bond movie, but the second there's an American Bond I'll be pissed.

Remember amercian actors like Cary Grant before Connery being considered for the role? kinda scary, but England-British actors-pretty rare to find a Bond, the gods will tell us when he comes!

I AGREE WITH YOU 100%Originally posted by SeanValen00V
Think is Amercians have copied so much from Bond, tv series, one liners, Bond is a big asset and sort of image for England, and for Amercian actor to play the part, it would sort of being the ultimate mutation of the originator-England of Bond actors=to Amercian-doing their best with many spoofs and copy cats now to have a part in Bond, but Bond will never have his offices in the US or be rewritten as amercian, imagine that, in a way, it would be flattery, us Amercian actors and studios, can't compete with that action man, so we give up, we'll join you, haha.

Watching SPEED 2: CRUISE CONTROL on TV the other day (a total waste of time), I thought that Jason Patric had a vaguely Bondian look about him. I remember reading something once that claimed he'd been under consideration as a potential Bond at some point. Not sure how good an actor he is, since SPEED 2 didn't give him much to work with, and I haven't seen anything else he's been in.
I've also heard that John Glen (director of FOR YOUR EYES ONLY, OCTOPUSSY, A VIEW TO A KILL, THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS and LICENCE TO KILL, as I know most of you know) thinks that Russell Crowe would be an ideal replacement for Brosnan.
