The Rolling Stones, instrumental or go home. Those are my three choices. I do like the rumour that Kylie Minogue might have a cameo in the film, as she is damn-*** hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I don't know how well she fair on a bond tune.

Sorry but not the Rolling Stones! They've been out of touch with music since the beginning of the 80s. I'd sooner have Madonna again!! not. I'd rather have Robbie Williams but it'll not happen because (apologies for this) you Americans dont know a good singer when you see one so the executives wont buy it even though it would undoubtedly give Bond its first UK number one. Also he's a Bond fan having sampled YOLT for his number one single "Millennium" and would make a good seventh Bond when he's old enough.

Rolling Stones over Madonna any day...

I side with my co-founder of the DWS (Dead Whales' Society).

Rolling Stones were already offered a Bond theme. I forget whether it was TND or TWINE, but they were offered it, and turned it down.

I think Duran Duran should do the next one in the style of "Come Undone" (a superb song). If not, Depeche Mode would be a good choice as well. Their song "It's no good" is very bondish in style. I know they were considered for TWINE, but were busy touring. Both of these groups have the right mood and style and commercial appeal to do a very good song for bond 21. Of course Duran Duran has already proved this.

It's not new news. I've been following the development of the last few bond movies online, I forget which site I read it on. A quick google search turned up this:

http://www.geocities.../goldeneye.html

I know there's more "substantial" news sources than a Geocities page, I'll see if I can dig it up.

No way should the Rollingstones do the next Bond theme, they have'nt done an interesting piece of music in over 20 years.

Kylie Minogue looks like a horse, and has the musical talent of Kermit the Frog,so I guess it would be a great idea for her to do the song,if only to shine a light on her remarkable lack of talent.

Robbie Williams stunning lack of originality would also be projected to a larger audience outside of the musicall backwater of the UK. He could do a duet with the twit from down under (Kylie) and finally kill off the Bond theme for good.

I think Kylie Minogue's looks are extremely overrated. She CAN look good, but most of the time when I've seen pictures of her lately, she looked rather awful.

I think Sade would be an excellent choice to sing the next theme. She has the class, style, and world following required to give the proper attention to the film.

Not as aged as Pierce. I have never seen so many wrinkles, double chins, and sagging pecs on a man. The makeup artist should get at least a nomination for trying so hard.:)

HORATIO! I AM KILLED!:)

the thing about pierce is that he (his portrayal) is JAMES BOND, unlike GoldenEye. He Looked FANTASTIC in GE...but everyone ages...and as they age...they look older (unless plastic surgery, or, er,...gene therapy) but become better at their profession

so...all i can say is :

either pierce get plastic surgery...or we learn to live with the fact that a fantastic bond actor is ageing

I'm all for a U2 Bond song. Bono and the Edge's writing on GoldenEye was excellent. Now I want to hear them take a stab at a song for themselves!

I could definately handle that. I have a friend who likes U2, and is something of a Bond fan himself, so his support goes with that idea also...

Anyone who thinks Pierce looks old (and I dont) should note the outstanding performance of Roger Moore's wrinkles from Moonraker onwards. In fact they should have had a separate credit on AVTAK.

Hahahhaha - that's really funny.

There's no way that Pierce looked old. The man's nearly 50, and I'd say he's managing to avoid aging rather well...

Back to the tunes discussion...

Found this about the Stones and Goldeneye..

http://www.007foreve...rick_astley.htm

However, I was positive the Stones were offered TND.

What an idiotic statement. Of course he's aging, just like everyone else.:). The only people who avoid aging are the dead, and I think Pierce is still breathing.:)

Thank you sir, may I please have another??? :)

Then allow me to rephrase: he doesn't look his age - he looks pretty good for 49. Happy?

Pierce looked good for his age in DAD. He seemed and looked more youthful in DAD than he did in TWINE, which is weird. People age and its actually given Pierce a mature look that works for the character of James Bond, whom is--need I remind you--a middle-aged man. He's kinda grown out of that whole pretty-boy look and I think you can take him more seriously as Bond now than you could back with GoldenEye.

As for Madonna... I think she looked alright in the film but I never thought she was pretty, actually I always thought she was disgusting. I'm sure not back in her prime but now, yes. And, after having her involved with DAD, just about any of the bands/groups/singers suggested would sound like a great idea. Sorry, I'm just not a Madonna fan and I understand the fans that want to stand up for her as we do with Bond, but, this is a Bond message board and we have the right to say if we don't like her or not seeing as she is directly involved with Bond.

I'd rather have Robbie Williams but it'll not happen because (apologies for this) you Americans dont know a good singer when you see one

Unfair! Foul! Time out!

Bit of a generalization there, don't you think? I'll give you this- your average American teenager has the worst musical taste in the world (actually, the worst taste in lots of other things too).

But we're not all Britney and N'Sync fans. I rail against the trashy, trade-on-your-looks-rather-than-any-discernable-talent pop stars every single chance I get! I'm a music purist if ever there was one, and I'm not alone in my country or even my state. I'm 20 and my favorite singer is the great Lou Rawls, followed by Elton John, Billy Joel and Simon & Garfunkel. I also like Queen, Jim Nabors, Andy Williams, Nat King Cole, Petula Clark, Dan Fogelberg, John Denver and Kenny Rogers, among others (I've got too many favorites to name, really).

Not many performers of today appeal to me; Lenny Kravitz I admire and respect because of his musical ability and expertise (writes nearly all his own songs, plays all his instruments on his albums, has a Masters' degree in music), and I like his music though some of his albums can kind of drag on. Haven't heard much of Alicia Keys though she is classically trained and what I've heard of her I've liked and I think she might be a good choice to perform a Bond theme, although on the converse side while she's very musical her voice sometimes sounds very indistinguished and ordinary (like I said, haven't heard enough of her to judge adequately).

So to reiterate, maybe the status quo of American youth wouldn't know a good singer since they're pretty much being given ****** and told it's caviar starting from an early age, and the music video has made kids forget that music is a sound medium, not a visual one, and the looks of a performer, while it has been an issue in this century (Sinatra, Elvis, the Beatles, etc.) are not the sole qualification for their music careers and are completely irrelevant in determining talent. Nevertheless, there are those of us who are working to stave off this bull[censored]. I wouldn't let any child of mine be suckered into having no musical taste like that and I know there are others who agree with me.

Simply stated, don't judge the entire population by its blind masses, Stu.

Dave
