Rita Hayworth in an antiques shop. Well maybe my definition ism't that, my mistake. Campest isn't the word I'd of used, I can't define it so as well as some but I'd like to share what comes to mind.

Anyone else find Mrs. Blofeld attractive?

YOLT - A helicopter that fits into luggage.

TMWTGG - Flying car always makes my eyes roll. Just wish that car chase ended better.

TSWLM - A city that rises out of the water.

MR - Secret doomsday space station.

I don't necessarily think of the above things as camp, but rather escapism. And I believe Bond movies need that element. It's just a matter of opinion as to how far they go.

P.S.: Did I mention The Man From UNCLE?

I agree.  I'd say they were fantastical rather than camp.

As for Mrs Blofeld, the first thing that pops into my mind when she appears is "LOOK BEHIND YOU!  OH NO HE ISN'T!  OH YES HE IS"  Etc.

The terribly butch Savalas Blofeld banging on about the loveliness of chickens, springs to mind.

The entire situation atop Piz Gloria, Bond decked out with frilly shirt and kilt, pouch hanging, a dozen young women looking to give him a hard time, like a hareem that isn't to be touched...I'd say that setup itself is the campiest perhaps in the series.

Campy setup, yes, but it played out well.

The all-female circus in OP was also a campy setup ("we won't see him til dawn"), but it also played out well, as did defusing the bomb in a clown costume.

(Yes, I'll forgive anything in OP, just as I'll defend TB, YOLT, OHMSS, DAF, LALD, TMWTGG, TSWLM, TLD, TND & DAD.)

AVTAK: Moore riding a snowmobile, with a handbag draped delicately over one limp wrist and while wearing enormous Dame Edna sunglasses.

CR: Craig lisping "I need you looking THABULOUTH!!!!" to Vesper while presenting her with a beautiful purple gown he clearly spent hours picking out.

TLD: Dalton's simmering pleasure at the prospect of buying Kara a sequined ballgown. "LET'S BUY IT!" he says while his body positively shakes with pleasure. He's had his eye on it for a long time!

AVTAK; Moore and Macnee bickering like a pair of raddled old queens on parade. High point when Moore sneaks up behind Macnee and playfully spanks his ass with a riding crop... The closest onscreen manifestation of Fleming's saucy S&M peccadilloes... "At last, the filmmakers capture the true spirit of Fleming..." cry all latter-day super serious Bond critics as they sit at their computers wearing baggy tuxedoes their mother bought them.

LALD: "Meet the man who shares my hairbrush... Quarrel Jr!"

What's been going on on this boat?

Let's not forget when Solitaire wakes to find Moore happily draped in her sequined clairvoyant gown. Moore was letting his camp flag fly from day one!

And while we´re at it - Bond´s Japanese disguise... almost rivaling Mickey Rooney´s...

I really liked what Skyfall and SPECTRE did with the villain lairs. Silva having his abandoned island and Blofeld his meteorite crater in the desert.

The thought of Mr Yunioshi as Dr No just brought a tear to my eye :)

Sinclair McKay's book "The Man With The Golden Touch" describes Fatima Blush in NSNA as "howlingly camp", which is a fair summing-up.

He also focusses on some of the hideous hotel and casino decor in hotel rooms in Bond films. TMTWGG and OHMSS being prime examples....

LTK: Dalton's obvious surpise and delight - and the "magic sprinkles" sound effects - when he notices Pam Bouvier has given herself a butch schoolboy haircut...

Monty Python defines this topic in their skit wherein a squad of soldiers are ordered to "Camp it - up!" and they start swanning about in unison.

I don't know how to link to Youtube, but you can find it there quite easily.

So, let's stick to real 'camp', shall we?

Never said the two were exclusive:

Boris Grishenko, Dr. Kaufman, R/Q - to name a few.

Diamonds Are Forever - Cross dressing Blofeld.

"Well, well, well, look what the cat dragged in.."

Yes, I agree that that is the single best example of campness in the Bond films.

Definitely camp, but also pretty sinister, thanks to the singular Charles Grey

For the um, er, homoerotic aspects of the word, how could you forget Anthony Zerbe in LTK:

"I don't like it...he could finger me."

"I wanna deep-six him".

For the purest use of the word camp, I was going to type all the examples in DAF, starting with Connnery's limp wrists in the PTS and ending with Bruce Glover's bomb up his cake-hole...I decided, the hell with it, just put the entirety of DAF.

NSNA- Connery on motorbike cornered in the tunnel by leather-wearing chain wielding refugees from the Blue Oyster bar as seen in Police Academy
