"Spectre" Lifts MGM Earnings by 62%
Good to see more evidence of the film's financial success. Hopefully this puts MGM in better position to negotiate the distribution deal, now that they've had three years of record profit, according to the article.
Sadly, it will still be deemed a "failure" by some, even though it accomplished this, hitting $200 million domestically (even if in the most artificial of ways), and pulling in almost $900 million around the globe.
As bad as Spectre may be as a film, it's still been financially successful, regardless of what's being said out there. Hopefully EON will still listen to the criticism of the film, as they did post-Die Another Day, and fix the issues the Bond franchise has rather than sitting on their laurels and delivering Spectre 2 the next time out.

Each Craig film has been markedly different from the one preceding it, Mendes directing the last two inclusive. I would expect that trend to continue, and not get another MR-style followup.
