The cover to the new Rankin making-of-Spectre book would have made a lovely poster, I can't deny.

Indeed - it's in the style of the CR casino table image.

Just like a lot of the recent posters--a lot of empty space.

Yep. And in this case, all the more striking for it. While I wasn't initially blown away by this poster, I'm really coming round to it and this quad iteration is my favourite yet. I think it's pretty classy, and I love the green.

It's called negative space, and most compositions need it.

The simplicity of the "spectre" in the background at first disappointed me (because I love the overly busy posters of the 70´s and 80´s).
But It works for me now, too. I do prefer the version with Bond AND Madeleine together, however.

The octopus logo gunshot is the iconic image, and I think it's a top poster. However my favourite from the rest is Bond in the white dinner jacket. Between those, I'm satisfied with the posters. I think they're better than what we received with Skyfall.

Saw my first SPECTRE double-decker today (no pic, sadly, but will upload when I have one). It's basically the solo-Craig tux poster spread across the bus.
And it's beautiful!

Interesting thing I found: there is the official UK theatrical quad poster:
That's pretty. This image works REALLY well as a quad, as did Skyfall's for that matter, which makes me think Mendes tends to choose final posters based on what the quad will look like.

Mendes isn't the one choosing the posters, I imagine.
Yeah, thinking about it, he's probably is given the final one along with the senior staff at EON and all are asked if its ok, then its majority rule, especially with how producer led EON is

Interesting point in the new GQ Bond special - Greg Williams wasn't involved with the poster campaign and other promo photos this time, it was all Rankin. Hence no "Bond on Set" book.
Also - character posters spotted

Just a trick of the light, but Bellucci's hands look massive

So it would seem all that's left is the IMAX poster.

Do you mean an IMAX poster in the vein of the little b/w one for SF which had Bond leaning against the car, or a quad with 'Experience in IMAX' on it?
If the latter, that has been covered. Albeit, I have only seen two for sale on ebay.

Mean the former (an IMAX specific poster as opposed to the IMAX variant of a poster) - and funny you mention as it was just released. Made a thread too.

Is that another quad?
Or something specific to the Tube?

It's specific to the New York subway. One of the domestic Outdoor Art variants, as opposed to a quad poster.
