Great photos, Marketto.
Cool to see that Mendes and other members of the crew take time out of what was no doubt a busy day for them to pose for pictures like this.
The amount of publicity Marketto brings them, they owe him.

I'm intrigued by what they're filming in Palenque. It's like SP's wild card.

It's predominantly just aerial tricks they couldn't do over central Mexico City (360 degree flips, etc), but I hope they'll somehow weave the ancient sites and temples into the sequence.I'm intrigued by what they're filming in Palenque. It's like SP's wild card.

I'm just speculating here, but if they were just getting aerial views and not planning on using the ruins, why travel SO far outside Mexico City? Seems a rather expensive logistical move just to film a few loop the loops in the air. There are ruins MUCH closer to the actual city (Pyramid of the Sun) that would make sense.
It is to do with the low altitude at Palenque. Apparently this is better for the aerial stunt work they are doing.
Mexico City is 2,200 meters above sea level, Palenque is just 60.

Altitude changes everything.

Science!Altitude changes everything.

So why not film at Pinewood then? Somehow, the ruins or terrain must play into the scene somehow. Either at the end of the shot, or during the scene itself. Not that it matters, it is going to be a phenomenal PTS.

We actually don't know if they even filmed above the ruins. Palenque is not only the ancient Maya site, but also a modern town. (http://en.wikipedia....lenque,_Chiapas)
I guess they needed a Mexican city as backdrop, even if it is a bad double for Mexico City.

You can always edit everything in post production and change around your backdrops.

The light quality would be quite different. Plus, easier to fly that very special helicopter to another part of Mexico than transport it across the Atlantic, for no good reason.

At least. Also, these figures are always totally overblown.

Not sure if it's from filming though. But it seems to be Mexico.

Great video.
There's more photos from Mexico on his Instagram account, which might give an insight into the locations used near Palenque: https://instagram.com/chuckpaaron

Dan spotted at last.
Sad to say that upon further inspection, that I don't think it is Craig in that Skeleton outfit. I think it may be someone behind him. At a glance it looks like it is him, but if you look closely the head and body doesn't match enough to be his.
EDIT - Ah sorry, it's already been mentioned.
I'm not so certain that it's not DC who's wearing that skeleton suit. Yes, there is a person standing behind him (you can see the hair on top right behind DC's head), but this person is wearing a white shirt (you can spot below Craig's chin). And one of the translated Mexican articles mentioned that Craig did wear at least a skeleton mask, so it may only be natural that he's wearing a matching suit, too.
