Léa Seydoux is apparently confirmed for Bond 24. A Femme Fatale the Daily Mail is saying!

Hmmm... The rumour had been around for some time. Seydoux herself denied it some days ago. But it's coming from Baz, so...
Given her physique, she could be playing a scandinavian character, don't you think?

A femme fatale would be excellent, in the vein of Xenia or Fiona Volpe. A straight up villainess.

This is also being reported by ComingSoon.net, and they tend not to publish articles based on unverified rumors.
Finally some casting news! Maybe we'll get an announcement about Mark Strong as the villain soon?

so she going to bad bond girl or good bond girl.......so far possible three if including Seydoux would be three french actress as Craig "Bond girl". If she is a bad bond girl......they need to make she is the opposite of her bad girl assassin in MI4:GP

Mark Strong wouldn't be my top choice personally. As great of an actor I think he is. I'd like to see someone who's really imposing, psychologically not physically. Peter Dinklage would be great. Anyway, yes. It is nice to get some casting news. After months of waiting we're finally getting back into gear.
I think Seydoux is a great choice. I've seen her in a few films, but I think I need to revisit some of her works. She's fantastic in Grand Budapest, other than that I feel I need to do a bit of research. The idea of a femme fatale sounds promising. Hopefully she'll kick Bond into gear a bit and give him some mayhem. A strong villainess is a long time coming. If Skyfall was Goldfinger, this could be Thunderball. A cold classic, obviously riding on the success of the previous but everything turned up a notch. Exciting times indeed.

Started shuffling through her IMDb pics. For the most part, I can't see it. Here, I can:
I was more excited by the prospect of a Scandinavian Bond girl, to be honest, but I'm sure I'll grow to like her eventually.
ETA: Sorry, this is the image I was going to post originally but couldn't from IMDb:

Interesting casting choice. Very surprised that they went this route, especially since she was in Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol.

Great news.
This also shows that Schmoes Know's "very trusted source on the project" can be trusted, as they had this scoop about Léa Seydoux back on 6th August.
Which leads me to think that the other information they had from this "very trusted source" about the other Bond girl is also true. Which was...
"Lead Female (30-40) Attractive, sophisticated, cool and calm secret agent."
This casting information had the name "Miranda Frost" attached to it, this is obviously a cover name. We know from elsewhere that this part is for a English actress.
Which makes me now suspect that the main Bond girl is a British secret agent called Gala Brand. Miranda Frost's name in DAD before a rewrite.
EDIT: i also notice that Baz says that filming starts in 6 weeks. Has the start of shoot been brought forward 2 weeks to around the 21st of November or has he just got his maths wrong?

Knowing the actors so early on through rumour and leak used to be exciting, but they always turned out to be in roles that were very menial, and very much a literal supporting role with not much to do.
I reckon this role isn't going to be very much on screen.

Not really true. For example, we knew about Javier Bardem in the January before production via a rumour at first. We also got rumours about Mathieu Amalric several months before confirmation.

I expect rumour of the main villain played by Chiwetel Ejiofor will be confirmed soon? so this will be one of the two Bond girl while the other is British agent? I not sure if we want to go down that route again so soon

I'm starting to form a theory that this British, female agent will be a 00 agent, 008 for instance.

Lovely.

Just saw this on twitter. She was alright in Ghost Protocol, nothing to write home about. Same goes with Blue Is The Warmest Color.

I liked her in Mission Impossible V but I agree with Ace on this one, I mean she wasn't spectacular or anything either. We shall see though I mean she definitely has an interesting look to her.

Now, here's something to look forward to.
nice pick Eon

Her character was just two-dimensional and abysmal, and Blue Is The Warmest Color was a three hour, coming of age/lesbian film that was horribly undermined by Abdellatif Kechiche's insistence on unnecessary, graphic sex scenes. TL;DR, films was meh. Interesting look to her, yes, and I applaud EON for going with someone relatively unknown to the basic movie goers eyes, but I'm not holding my breath out for her.

I am so happy about this news. I really hope she plays some kind of villainess/ henchwoman, despite her role in MI:5, as Craig has not had a proper bad Bond girl yet, unless you count Valenka from Casino Royale, which I don't.

Decent bit of casting news. I've liked her in everything I've seen.
Guess the challenge now is to ensure the character isn't too close to her MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE role.

I agree with you on this: her role in "Mission: Impossible IV" was underwritten, and "Blue..." was a massively overhyped tv movie spiced up with unnecessary porn. Still, Sedoux is a very capable actress and has given amazing performances in many French films. She will bring something fresh and unusual to a Bond film if given a decent role.

i havn't seen her in anything . i don't know what to make of it.

And lastly, is the character she's rumored to play really another MI6 agent of some sort? Jeez, I was really hoping they'd stay away from that kind of character angle (it's played out)..
That angle has been played out, although I think that they could possibly make it different enough by making the character a female Double-oh agent, which I think might be enough of a twist on what is otherwise a pretty typical plot device that EON has been relying on as of late.

I sincerely hope she's a villainess, but I wouldn't mind her as an ally.

Blue Is The Warmest Color was an hour too long and horribly paced. It's a mildly interesting film, but the sex scenes are completely dragged out to the point of it being pornography. I also just remembered that the other film I saw her in was Inglourious Basterds. Other than that, I can't really comment on her other films and performances, respectively, but if you say she is capable and has given amazing performances, then I trust your word on it SAF.
