Just a tiny bit of speculation: both Christoph Waltz and Ralph Fiennes were at the Golden Globes last night.  Interesting to think that they both are on a private jet back to the set (not Austria necessarily, of course).

Waltz was having a full head of hair.  ;)

Waltz stated in an interview in December that his first day of shooting will be in February or March.

So his look from the Globes hints at nothing, because he isn't working on SPECTRE for at least another month.

Yes, he's also said more recently that he starts in February.

He is involved in the Rome shoot and they start filming there on 19th February. He may start before that if they have studio stuff scheduled for earlier.

I'm curious as to where the production is going to move to once filming in Obertillach is complete..Will they have time to shoot back to Pinewood for more interior scenes, or will they jump straight over to Rome where filming starts Feb. 19th ??.. Hmm...

Good point. There probably is time for a couple of weeks in London.

Has anyone seen any suggestion of when they'll be filming in Mexico?

Good question. I suspect that the first unit will finish in Obertillach after about 5 to 7 days, but the second unit will be there for quite a bit longer.

With the first unit returning to Pinewood for some filming between Austria and Rome.

Then there is more filming (possibly by the second unit) taking place back in Sölden on the glacier between 9th and 17th Feb, the second unit probably move straight on to Rome for the car chase.

I'm going to blindly guess this and say April-May-ish(?)

Indeed...According to one of the documentaries on the UE of FYEO, the same problem of lack of snow happened for the production crew when they arrived in Cortina..They had to truck in mounds of snow from the hills for the town square scenes...

Looks like the shell does a 180 before coming to a stop! Interesting the P99 is back...thought we'd retain old faithful in the PPK. Unless our new M wants Bond to have more firepower...!

Interessting, that the bullet hole in the plane window resembles the hole on the teaser poster.

Hate to break it to you guys, but that isn't a Walther P99. That's a Steyr M9-A1

Good gun? How does it compare to the Walther PPK or the P99?

It's a 9mm so it's basically on par with the P99. It's shaped like the P99, but less clunky. I believe it was also used by a Mr. Silva in Skyfall!

Some great photos there. So it looks like Bond is in the plane wreckage, which spins around, before he jumps out firing.

I can only wonder what might have Mr. Bleeker from LALD would have said if this had been his plane that Bond had borrowed... :D

"Your powers of observation do you credit..." Yup, Silva uses one in his last scene. Only fair to use an Austrian gun when shooting in Austria... :D

Well this definitely follows the pattern of most Bond films where 007 uses more than one handgun throughout the movie. I.e. - Daniel Craig used a Glock while at Mr. Silva's island and he used a SIG in QOS. Either way, as long as Bond is kicking a$$ and looking suave, I'm all in. B)
