In addition to the news of Chiwetel Ejiofor leading the way for the BOND 24 villain, there's also another couple of snippets which deserve their own thread."Casting has been heating up with the studio also on the lookout for one Scandinavian and one British woman to play the new Bond girls.""The filmmakers will soon begin casting two key female roles, including a new Bond girl and a Scandinavian with a troubled past who will serve as a brief love interest for Bond."So - a British actress for an unknown role, and a Scandinavian with a troubled past. Thoughts?
Brief usually means "dies".

Referencing the above, I think I would prefer the second girl; she has a more "troubled" and "tragic" look. Although, I contradict myself because the first one is a blonde, and it's been too long since Bond has had one of those.
ETA: I'm not actually thrilled with the looks of either girl, which means one of them will probably be cast.

At least one of them should be a traditional bond girl who stay with Bond the entire film not just for 5 mins or less

Ida has a classic Bond girl look in that picture.

The British one's probably an MI6 agent, who's Bond's equal, etc.

probably but I don't think we need to see another Mi6 agent so soon......unless she is another 00 agent like Bond

I agree, we've already had plenty of secret agent women in the last six movies (Wai-Lin, Miranda Frost, Eve, etc.).

It could, but not necessarily. Recall when they were casting Camille and wanted a South American and ended up casting a Ukranian.

If they're going to go the whole "Bond equal" route yet again (and we all know that they are), then I hope that they really do justice to that concept and have her be a Double-oh agent. If they're going to keep trotting out the same concept for the Bond girl over and over again, at least make it somewhat different.

I know she's neither Scandinavian nor British but I'd like to see Margot Robbie as the BOND 24 female lead. We haven't had a blonde Bond girl in a dozen years.

I'd like to see Robbie in a Bond film at some point, although I think I'd like to wait a couple of films as she's only 23 now and has plenty of time ahead of her to find her way into a Bond film. I'm still hoping for Yvonne Strahovski, although I don't see EON going that route, as there's no Oscar buzz around her.

Strahovski's also very American, and they do seem to be favouring the Europeans in the Craig era - to wit, the casting news above!

Yeah I see your point.

I'd like to see the British Bond girl not be an agent/ double-0 agent. I think they need to get away from those types of Bond girls. It also feels like the description given just sounds like Eve and Severine. Eve is the British Bond girl and Severine was a foreign Bond girl with a troubled past?
I'd love to either of those women thought to be cast as Bond Girls, but I would enjoy it a lot if they cast Andrea Riseborough as the British Bond girl. Having a redhead would good to see again and she's a brilliant actress.

I wouldn't have thought they would already be casting, I figured the next Bond 24 news we would be getting would be about the production team like who is replacing Deakins etc...

That won't necessarily be huge news.

I'm not sure why everyone's assuming the British girl to be an agent. With the reports of Eve being more involved in the field, wouldn't that be overkill? Of course I also would appreciate a civilian, like Kara Milovy to mix it up a bit.

She's actually Polish-Australian.
She's not going to be cast anyway, but her non-casting won't be because she's 'very American'.

I'd love to see this Scandinavian Bond girl as a henchwoman, maybe "brief" means she'll reveal being on the bad side after bedding Bond. I'm only saying this cause I really want Craig's era to have it's Bad Bond Girl i.e. Fiona Volpe.

Curious. I can't quite figure out if that's an official Sony document that she's mentioned on, but even so, I'm sure the studio would prefer to announce their casting with a bigger fanfare than a note on a release schedule. I don't buy it (yet).

Neither do I..(yet)..but just speculating...but if she were cast, could she be the girlfriend of Chiwetle Ejiofor's baddie? A sort of Valenka to Le Chiffre in Casino Royale? Maybe..just a thought..Still though, this is a great time to be a Bond fan when pre-production shifts into high gear and all the rumors start floating.. Some websites I've read have been speculating that maybe Daniel Craig dropped out of "The Whole Truth" because they want to fast track the start of Bond 24..a lot of them have said that filming is supposed to start this summer. Not buying it myself, as officially we know things are supposed to kick off in Oct/Nov..

It could be that someone at Sony in France has made a clerical error based on the Penelope Cruz rumour from last June. I recall something like this happening before.
...or it could be that there was more to that rumour after all. Best wait and see on this one.
