I assume Sony would make it a PS3 Exclusive.

I would be fine with that. Although at this point, it's probably more likely it would be a PS4 exclusive.

Sony would absolutely make it a PS3 (or PS4) exclusive, and that would be a terrible business decision for EON (or whoever it is that actually holds the rights to the gaming franchise) to make, considering that they would be limiting themselves in terms of sales right out of the gate.  Sales are more than likely going to be fairly low for the next game anyway due to the abysmal failure that 007 Legends turned out to be and then the sales would be further cut down by it being exclusive to one console over the others.

Given that Sony also holds partial rights to the film franchise, I bet they'd be more inclined than perhaps some other companies to have the games be film tie-ins as well.  I'd rather see the franchise get away from that completely and craft original games that have nothing to do with what's going on in the film franchise, except for the inclusion of the current Bond actor as the likeness of Bond in the game.

That's probably a sound argument. I think sales would increase if the marketing for the game were better and the production values were higher. I personally agree that they need to keep the games and films separate and not try to cash in on the film's success. Just make the best damn game possible and let the game stand on its own merits.

Agreed on the production values.  The games will absolutely sell more if the production values are higher, and if that's clearly evident in the lead up to the release of the next game, then sales will no doubt increase.  How much they'll increase is anyone's guess, as I would imagine there will be some who have been disappointed by the last few efforts that will be hesitant about dropping more money on something that's been so subpar in the past.  Regardless, though, the license holders would be severely limiting their sales potential by making the games console exclusive.

Sorry Pete, I got my wires crossed - I thought Sony only did exclusive games for consoles, but didn't know it was just for Playstation.

Kinda dumb, I had been at work too long...!

As they made GoldenEye, Rare should get James Bond license back. Even if they suck now, I'm pretty sure they'll make it a masterpiece. Rare's problem is not they make bad games, is that they make games fans don't like. But I must admit they put their efforts in what they do.

True, but Rare's heyday was in the N64 era. When they made Goldeneye, Perfect Dark (Goldeneye 2), Banjo Kazooie, and Conker's Bad Fur Day. Since then, nothing has even come close to those 3. Conker: Live and Reloaded was awful, Perfect Dark Zero sucked and none of the new Banjo Kazooie games even come close to the N64 ones. No, I'm afraid Rare's time has passed.

Rare should not be the studio to get the Bond license, especially if it's simply because they did GoldenEye 007.  Most of the team that made GoldenEye 007 left the company a long time ago, sometime during the creation of Perfect Dark or sometime not long after its release.  The only thing that would be the same from the GoldenEye 007 era would be the name of the company producing the title.

The license really needs to go to an up and coming development company that is hungry to make a great game rather than a company like Activision that simply releases Call of Duty games with Bond characters instead of their generic military characters and then waits to rake in the money from the fans who buy the games regardless of quality.

Nope, it's because they're my favourite videogames company, I own and like pretty much everything they made (PD, Blast Corps, GE 007, Banjo games, Conker, Kameo, Ghoulies, Viva Pinata, Jetpac, JFG just to name a few).

I'll second that.
