I have always thought the good thing about the fan art threads (unlike the fan authorship threads) was that the obvious and the derivative would be left to the 'Paid Designers' to bore.
The abstract and the weird was always to be looked forward to. So while I will be the first to admit, I couldn't do better (or even the same), slapping a trademarked logo on a studio photo really isn't cutting it for me.
Come on chaps, respectfully, apply yourselves to something 'out there'.

Some Great Posters here, I am new here and sharing first poster from my side (Found Online)

I made a few updates in this artwork. The "Spectre" ring has been replaced by the current, which is used in the film. The "Jumper James Bond" is an absolute no go for me! In the current version he is now wearing suit. Fits better to Bond.

I have been a little disappointed with the 'slap a logo on a photo' standards of fan art of late. That said, I suppose one could say that it perfectly mirrors of the 'official' output, so what do I really know...
But that shot of Bond on the lake is just perfect.
And a lovely bit of editing there too sir.

I completely forgot I had an account here - I've been lurking here quite a bit and posting over at MI6...
Anyway here are a couple of things: first off something I did today with the new spot being out - a teaser trailer in the style of Skyfall:
And a couple of teaser posters from a while back:
Lovely!

Yes. It's just a screen from the movie. The image is fantastic and it works very well as a poster. I like it!

Just come back from vacation in a good mood. ...and then I see this:
Hmm.
I honestly do not know where your problem lies, @Simon. Were created at the time when this fanart, there were hardly any usable footage. A selected photo from the film has a certain appeal as a poster motif. The "Bond on the lake" motif is perfect in your eyes. Since no longer understands the world. What now? Only the 'slap a logo on a photo' spell and then .... Well. It would not be bad if we sometimes get to see fanart from you. Then we can see if you have what it takes, or are just a bully.
BTW: My 'slap a logo on a photo' Poster with fantastic aerial view of Rome at night seem to like the people at Facebook:

Here we go again.
If you, and others, insist on putting work up for display expecting only positive reviews, then you are misguided. One should have the mindset and confidence that work is to be honestly reviewed by one and all, and showing credentials to do better in whatever field is being reviewed is not a prerequisite for critiquing. Does a critic need to be an actor to critique another actor's work? Does he need to be an artist to review art?
It is this idea that just because we all belong to the same forum, saying something is half-assed is considered rude, but we CAN say something is half assed if the one responsible is not a member here. Double standards.
And I assure you, my Hmm, was being polite.

@Simon
I speak now only for me alone. Of course, I expect not only postives feedback on my work. I read your 'slap a logo on a photo' posting by scrolling in the thread. It has left the impression on me that this post is in a relationship with your "Hmm." Hence my reaction.
In my work I present the motives of different images freely, editing them accordingly and create a kind of Concept. The image with the Spectre Ring and the chess game is one of them. I had to work that Bond's hand disappears and the ring is put in right light and perspective.
All the posters based on the "Rome" theme I used private photos for the artworks.
For me, the attraction is that I create something new from different images and motives. The screens from the movie are very minimalistic but meaningful enough that there are sufficient only the logos. But even then I had to edit the Screen minimal, so that he comes to the big poster template for validity. These templates are great in 5 - 6 K area, so as a poster is properly optimized for the large print.
The thing with the "Hmm" is ok for me. It was a good thing that we have talked about it.
I would be happy about it, if I could see a fanart in front of you here.

There have been some truly inspired fan arts on this board; one springing to mind is a poster of a cat's eye against white with something like, 'Look who's back' signifying Blofeld. It was simple, brutally effective and stylish. And believe me, I did lavish praise all over that one.
I also say that today's posters, including the current one for SPECTRE, as done by the paid professionals are uninspired and flat. To be frank, if all the distributors wanted to do was to hint at a new Bond film at Teaser time, to all intents and purposes, all they would need to do would be to trot out the same poster with nothing more than 007 on it, and perhaps a date to distinguish it from the last film's poster.
And I daresay, there has been a lot of work, done by skilled people manipulating pixels on lots of technology for this and your output, all of which would leave me hopelessly incapable immediately after opening up the application. But if the result doesn't inspire and cause wonder, then in my eyes, it has been a bit of a waste of time - is all. So while I would love to pop something together, believe me when I say I haven't the design nor the artistic skills.

I was surfing the internet just now and came across this very striking image of an alternative SPECTRE poster which merges Bond's and Oberhauser's faces. It is almost seemless. Apologies if this has already been shared.
The art is by Michael Friebe and can be found at: http://alternativemo...michael-friebe/

Good poster - funny how Waltz's bearded look on the right evokes Craig from Skyfall.

My old friend has finally passed My computer with different editing software, image files, video files and a lot of memories decided go to sleep and not awake. Various attempts at resuscitation were made, but it could not hang on to life.
Luckily many of the image files, including useful png files, were backed up - but I may have lost my editing software.
I'm currently looking at hard drives (may even go for a HDD and an SSD) but I hope to find a solution to the software problem eventually. I'll have to ask around - until then, I'll be thinking up a very special SPECTRE fan art for when the cold black remains of my friend rises like a phoenix once more and breaths new life again.
I think I have something up my sleeve...
