Yes..It's been confirmed that M, after having said "I don't give a s#$t about the C.I.A. or their chopped up evidence.." in Quantum of Solace, says "I f#$ked this up, didn't I? " in Skyfall.. Technically, the "F" word was said before in Live and Let Die by Sherrif J.W. Pepper but it's drowned out by a boat engine...watch his lips when the boat jumps over his car..
Don't forget dear Mrs. Bell. She dropped the S-Bomb just before the hangar doors took the wings off of Bond's plane.

This reminds me of when I was 19 & first saw AVTAK in the theater. Stacey Sutton dropped the S-Bomb whilst driving the fire truck.

Positive. M says: "I f***ed this up, didn't I?"Are we absolutely sure? I've seen it twice and could have sworn she said "fouled." Granted, she said s**t is "Casino Royale"...
I believe it was during QUANTUM OF SOLACE that M previously swore. Most foul-mouthed character in Bond history.

Yes, you are correct that it was in "Quantum." After listening for it the second time though I still think she said "I fouled this up didn't I?"

Don't worry, she won't be saying it again.
Touché!

She was angry, scared, exhausted and felt guilty - that was good enough for me. It made sense as it's exactly what I think anybody would have said in the same situation.Though I am no prude, I really felt that this was an unnecessary bridge for the series to cross. Just because the guidelines for the PG-13 rating (in the US) allow for a single utterance of the word doesn't mean that it should be included. I guess the reason it bothers me is that it seems there was no germane reason for it other than the fact that they could do it.
I find it strangely appropriate that the first time a character has ever used that word in the Bond films was not Bond himself, and not even the villain, but Judi Dench.

I agree 100%. If there has ever been a point in the franchise where the situation was that serious - it was that scene. Anything less would have been unrealistic.

Agreed, plus you can't really clearly hear her say the word.

I would hate to see the inclusion of the F-Bomb be a reason that some Dad would think twice about taking his son to a 007 movie. It's a threshold the series has never previously breached. I realize the argument can be made that if the wanton death and sexual promiscuity is acceptable for a kid, then so should be the language. But I know my own Dad would have drawn a line there where he (thankfully!) didn't at the sex and violence!

It helps that it isn't very audible in the film, so it doesn't become a "DUM DUM DUUUM... M JUST SWORE!!!" moment.
I completely agree. I was surprised, actually. When I heard M would swear, I was expecting it to be a comic moment. Obviously hinting to what she's done in the past, but I expected it too be in the DB5, with Bond giving her a very funny look after she said it. I was so happy that no one laughed during that. Everyone in my screening was so into it, that the fact that M just swore made it even more serious.

For anyone still wondering if it is "f***ed up" or "fouled up", the promotional material refers to SKYFALL containing "one use of strong language". That's what it refers to.
Well, to be fair though it could refer to Kincade saying s**t...
