It probably is a question of who owns the rights - and whether they can pull off a decent blu ray from this film. I liked it and would love to have a good blu ray copy.

There's a Blu out here in the U.S., can't you chaps in UK just import it. I was under the understanding that Blu is not region blocked so you should have no problem playing it.

1: not every "chap" is from the UK 2: the shipping from the US costs more than the disc 3: it is region locked A !!! 4: currently sold out at amazon, cheapest private seller price right now: 65,99 dollar

I'm from Ireland and I frequently order Blu-Rays/DVDs from the U.S. when they're not released over here.

Most Blu-Rays are region free (even if they say otherwise) and every Blu-Ray player can be rendered region-free via a simple Google Search for the Region Unlock Codes for your specific player. After that, it's just a case of pointing your Blu-Ray remote at the player and keying in the numbers. It's as easy as typing a cheat code into a videogame.

The only problem is that yes, frequently Amazon charges ridiculous shipping prices and sometimes you can get done for customs costs as well (one time I had to pay €40 for a boxset I paid €30 for).

As for NSNA, it's not THAT bad. I'd certainly rank it higher than DAF or TMWTGG.

Yeah, I'd certainly pick up a UK copy (can't play US discs myself).

It's better than a chunk of EON films.

Most reviews of this blu-ray indicate that the picture quality is not better than the dvd. Maybe that´s why the blu-ray already is discontinued.

I suggest to buy the dvd or wait until a properly transferred BD is available.

Having both the originally released DVD and the new Blu/DVD combo, I can say the new release is much better. The colors are much more crisp and not washed out as previously. The Blu looks just as good as any other Blu I've watched so any reason its been pulled is definitely for reasons other than quality.

I'm tired of reading here an everywhere that NSNA is not official. McClory had the rights to do it, therefore it's OFFICIAL. It was just made apart from the main series, but it was OFFICIAL as CASINO ROYALE was. THEY HAD THE RIGHTS TO DO IT IF THEY DIDN'T THEY WOULDN 'T HAVE BEEN ABLE TO MAKE THEM.

THEY ARE OFFICIAL.

Just not official in the sense that EON has made NSNA.

To top it all, the film belongs to MGM now which makes it part of the same house hosting the main series :)

Still won't ever find it in a box set with the rest of the series though.

Wonder if since getting the rights, they (MGM) ever toyed with the idea? Can't imagine EON would allow it though.

I thought about getting it on Blu-ray for the sake of having it on Blu-ray until I checked prices on eBay. I realize it's now out of print but I'm certainly not spending $100+ on Never Say Never Again or any Bond film for that matter. Suddenly my DVD copy seems highly satisfying - not that I watch it that much anyways.

The Blu looks way better than the DVD, I suggest you get it in 720p or 1080p since the disc is OOP.

It wasn't a limited release, but it seems to have gone out of print after a "Disney Animated Classics"-like amount of time... I'm going back and forth as to whether or not I should hold onto my copy... I want to have every Bond film on Blu-ray (I also have the 1967 CR) BUT $100 seems like a ridiculous amount of money to get for an opened Blu-ray!

It looks like they pulled it just to re-release it with a 30th anniversary tag.  The posts right above yours show its getting released in Europe so likely will be in the US again as well.

Yes, that's what I was thinking too,

unfortenately for me I was one of the suckers who paid 65 euro for the combo (new and sealed) on Ebay a couple of months ago.

If I only had waited a few months longer...... pffff!

Amazon would not fool around like that, guys.

We can look forward to a European Blu-ray release of this underrated guilty pleasure!

It'll be fun to watch sellers drastically lower their prices in light of this. If it sees a North American release I might get it, but I'm content with the Collector's Edition DVD (I was more interested in the bonus content than the actual film).

FOr those of us in the UK, the French version can be imported. http://www.amazon.fr... jamais blu ray . I got my copy this week. It's the full version, not the censored UK version, and is an English language disc and film. The only French aspect is the cover

Is the horse fall the only cut?
