The Cbn'ers Behind Our Forum Names

The variety of people here on CBn is wonderful, but I awlays look at our Forum Names and wonder what the story is behind them. Well, maybe not so much a story, but where did it come from? What Bond moment from 50 years helped you choose a unique name? What personal event mixed with 007 memories led to that name?
Let's share the short or long reasons behind your Forum Name, if it's clean and you wish to share of course! I'll start the ball rolling...
As I joined in 2006, 'Casino Royale' was just around the corner from taking the world by storm and I plucked up courage to join CBn and so, with the revival of my Bond passion I wanted to honour the film, but not just CasinoRoyale.
I wanted to be what the film, and novel encapsulated - the elegance, the thrill, the danger, the espionage, the wonder of the great spy himself. And as I presumed you couldn't use spaces, capital letters or grammer I became, simply...

So I settled for another vehicle Bond had driven. Mine was a '73, in a very unpopular shade of plum purple, and a mechanical disaster. No wonder America's #4 automaker got swallowed by Chrysler (and they only bought it for the Jeep line).
Could have been worse - imagine if I'd chosen the screen name "Ford Pinto' for the same reason?

I just assumed that CR was your favourite Bond film! But i see it's actually LTK (one of my faves too!)
I was at university in 2006, drunk one night. And being a long-time reader of CBN forums, i decided it was high time i got involved.
To this day i still don't remember why i chose PPK_19, though i know i was 19 at the time of joining. And the fact that our favourite secret agent carries a Walther PPK, of course...

The first Bond movie and Bond game I ever owned was GoldenEye and GoldenEye 007 for the N64. With that in mind, along with Alec Trevelyan being my favorite villain of the series, it was only natural for me to choose a username that incorporated all those components. Thus, Trevelyan 006 .
However, this isn't my original CBn forum name. Originally, I used the forum name of S.P.E.C.T.R.E_Agent_44. Seeing as I soon realized the name was a bother to remember and I didn't have enough posts to change it, I abandoned it.

Do you remember Red Dwarf, when Rimmer tried to convince Lister to call him 'Ace'?
"The other boys in the Space Academy would never call me Ace, no matter how many times I let them beat me up."
Lister was at least willing to call him "Ace-hole."
No offence intended - I'm just sayin'. (I suppose I just blew any chance of being one of those great people you mentioned.)

My mistake, I don't know why I though It was only James Bond, funny enough I have heard that name Sidney Reilly before.
Now I feel like a damn moron.

So.. The Dove...hmm... well I signed on way back in June of 2003 just after all the hullabaloo of Die Another Day.. Hmm.. guess I was struggling to come up with a good username..all the obvious ones like "007" etc. were taken when Columbo's nickname suddenly hit me as a good choice.. Not many people would immediately think of The Dove and associate it with the Bond films right off the bat. Plus, with a dove being a symbol for peace, I kind of felt it suited me.. I've mostly avoided getting involved with any little squabbles or arguments which occasionaly occur..think the post-Quantum of Solace era was one of the worst times here for that to my mind. Live and Let Live I say..hah!

As Fleming stole the name James Bond, I did the same in creating a role playing character back when RPG games were done with a character sheet, multi-sided dice and one's own imagination along with countless coca-cola and cigarette fueled gaming sessions.
John Bryce was (obviously) lifted from Bond's alias in LALD and the 003 a D-10 - ten sided die - (I did consider 005, but "life is gone with just a spin of the wheel" or, rather, a "roll of the dice"). Modeled off of Bond is some respects and the imagination of an eleven year old at the time. He is still my dark half/rough diamond of a character now some 33 years on.
On it goes....Wouldn't have it any other way and do love the fan-fic that's become a part of it.

But since I thought this would puzzle many on the boards, I decided to tune it down to just Bond's boss.

I thought either that, or maybe from the same sort of origin as mine......It's the area of London where MI6 headquarters is located.
