As there has been an attempt to humanise Bond a bit more in the Daniel C. movies, would you like to see him away from his work, perhaps a scene in his home or pursuing a personal interest (at a football match perhaps?). I've always liked the scene in LALD where M and Moneypeny visit Bond's apartment. I doubt there'll be such a scene in Skyfall but what about a future movie?

A scene a home, early in the movie, showing his morning routine, exercise, breakfast, reading the newspaper - particularly if it's been a while since his last assignment and he's feeling bored / ressless. A number of the books obviously start that way. If makes sense to the wider narrative, or makes a character point about Bond's disdain for "the soft life" for too long a period, I'd like to see it.

GIven that London is a venue for Skyfall, I was hoping we'd see Bond's flat again. Would think that in at some point in the story, it might seem natural for Bond end up there. Hope so. I liked getting a peak at the place in LALD too. Fleming laid out Bond's morning routine pretty throughly, wouldn't mind seeing him go through it.

I've always enjoyed those glimpses into Bond's non-mission existence. Wouldn't mind seeing him in his office or in some brief social scenes with established friends like of or Leiter (God I wish they'd bring back Leiter again).

Wouldn't mind seeing the Bond and the Bently either (maybe on driving into the office after having the car serviced).

Really like the brief but moving graveyard scene at the start of FYEO. Always nice to get a glimspe into Bond the man's life, before continuing on to Bond the spy.

Yes, I wouldn't be surprised if the "getting back in shape" arc includes a scene at Bond's flat. Maybe just a few brief shots. We've certainly seen a hell of a lot of M's flat. And there was Mitchell's flat in QOS. It's not as if they have a policy against showing where people live.

I would like to see something like the appearence of Bond in his flat like 'Live And Let Die' - just seeing him in his robe, not dressed to the nines and happy to make a coffee with bed hair was comforting almost, and a nice human touch.

I don't think I want to see him participate in something totally sociable as it would seem out of character for 007, but more of him in his own bubble either out and about or in his flat would be really nice to see once more.

Perhaps not. While I can see him rustling up a good breakfast, I can't see Craig's Bond doing the hoovering. May coud be a retired civil servant who Bond was fond of, and she pops around to keep things right for him.

We can follow Bond through a typical off day.

Bond taking a bath.

Talking to his Siamese cat, Mister Feathersome.

Making toast, then swearing when he burns it.

Eating peanut butter out of the jar.

Sitting on his laptop and watching Kardashian clips on YouTube.

Taking a crap.

That's a Bond film, right there.

Bond is an iconic character because he is not too normal. And haven´t we gotten Bond off duty enough (even SKYFALL offers it).

No, I want a pure Bond on a mission-film next. No traitors within his own ranks, no doubts about loyalty, just efficient business.

Wot, no sorting through his junk mail and dusting his bookshelves?

What's the state of Bond films coming to?

I can't see Craig's Bond doing the hoovering.

Neither can I - only Bond I can imagine doing household chores is Sir Roger. :)

I'd be slightly surprised if we didn't get at least one scene of Bond in 'non-mission' mode. After all he does disappear for some time, from what we've learned already.

I definitely wouldn't rule it out and I for one, would welcome it. More true to the novels, as mentioned previously.

Oh sure, and then what? Bake a quiche and take a nap in a rocking chair ---

Real men don't eat quiche.

Except 007 - who can even can cook it.

And what's a valley girl like Stacey doing asking what it is? Just how vacuous can she be?

(Nicolas Cage in Con Air: "My first guess would be: a lot.")

And Sir Roger pulled that one off effortlessly and in no shape of form sacrificed his integrity. :)

Yes. Many novels have that "home" routine that's quite interesting to get to know Bond and to understand why he wants to run away from it.
Could be good to have that in a movie.

If we have any qualms about such a scene, I think we're underestimating Craig's abilities as an actor. If Brosnan or Dalton or Moore or even Connery were to play in an extended domestic "soft life" scene, I think we would lose the sense that the man we're watching is James Bond. But Craig could easily pull it off. He can play Bond convincingly in a completely un-Bondian context.

Its certainly an intriguing idea...though somehow I find it hard to imagine Craig's Bond having much off a life beyond the service. Connery, Moore and Brosnan's Bonds definitely...with Dalton and Craig its a bit harder to imagine given that they seem really wound up tight-machines who seem to live only for the next mission. Sure, both these Bonds have a soul, and a very human vulnerability at their core, but they come across as being haunted and damaged to a degree...

I'd certainly like to see it provided it was relevant to the story, not just put in the film for a bit of fun. Maybe Bond could be wounded in action and have to take time off. We could see him killing time at home, getting bored and frustrated at not being able to perform his duties. Just an idea.

The literary Bond has lots of down time where he stews in his office, eats scrambled eggs, and curses the "soft life", but the cinematic Bond has a much fuller schedule. He pops into London the same way he pops into Beirut or Karachi. Does he even need a permanent residence? It would be kind of interesting and poignant if he stayed in a hotel even in London. It would ram home the idea that he's always in motion, and really has no stable existence independent of the service.

I suppose film Bond is sleeping in a file cabinet in the SIS cellar, right beside the small arms range and the close quarters combat dojo.

Well we do get to see some of Bond off duty in SF so lets see how that goes.

I'd also like to see Bond just on a mission to stop some madman set on world domination without any sub plot about Bond's relationships or what not, something like AVTAK.

It would be cool to see Bond's flat again and when it was first rumored I suggested they put a set of gold clubs and the coffee/expresso machine from LALD in it.
