Mentions it towards the bottom. Should be a good watch, I'm sure there'll be a good Bond sketch at some point. Also, wishful thinking but Muse for Skyfall theme, anyone? lol

I can't believe The Muse are playing if it was anyone else I wouldn't think anything of it but The Muse I believe won a online poll at IGN as the favorite to do the theme song. Strange news, is it? I'm not going to read to much into it though.

I would say it was coincidence if they were booked on SNL on a night that James Bond wasn't.
What?

Hmm, yes, I don't quite see the logic. Muse have been on Saturday Night Live plenty of times before when James Bond wasn't... Admittedly the timing is a coincidence, but Muse have an album to promote in October and Daniel Craig has a movie to promote in October - which is why they both happen to be on SNL that week.

Catherine Tate - she's quite well known in the UK for her comedy show and appearances in Dr Who.Haven't seen that before, thanks for posting. I recognize the girl from the show The Office.

Also, it should be noted that this episode of Saturday Night Live airs after 'Global James Bond Day'. I wonder. Could Muse be announced as the title singer on the 5th? Then show the music video for 'Skyfall' on the 6th. As an exclusive.

" Daniel, normal straw or crazy straw?"
" Crazy!"
As for Muse, that would be interesting, but as some of you have noted, they do have an album coming out anyway. Still, who's to say that there won't be a Bond track on there.

However, i don't see them promoting a new single and simultaneously premiering their new Bond theme - Marketeers don't like to confuse the punters.

I would say it was coincidence if they were booked on SNL on a night that James Bond wasn't. Especially, with Muse winning a fan poll to do the theme, I can't believe this is just coincidence....
I suppose I should be clearer. I meant that I thought it would be more of a coincidence if Muse was performing say on the week preceding or following the night Daniel Craig was hosting and that performing on the same night is not a coincidence.....unless of course it is a coincidence.

I'm willing to add that it could very well be that Adele will surprise the audience and join Muse onstage, they probably wrote the song and recorded it together. Anyone know what her status is? Seems I heard she was about to have a baby any time now, would she be physically able to be there?

Now it appears that it will be happening only one day after Global Bond Day, another coincidence?

Probably. I just don't buy into this. No way EON would allow NBC to inadvertently announce the title singers of the new theme this way.

I don't buy it either. I just can't imagine that, with all the secrecy surrounding Skyfall, that EON would allow a network like NBC, which attracts little to no viewers aside from its Sunday Night Football coverage, be the ones to let the cat out of the bag on the title song performers.

True. On the other hand SNL attracts world wide press. And EON will certainly announce the performer before SNL airs. So they will not only consider themselves to be the ones who let the cat out of the bag - but also have (and increase) a world wide audience to hear the new Bond song in a show that will feature Craig´s lighter side (which existence is still a question mark for some).
Said 'existence' is still a question mark for those still living under a rock?!? Seriously, were you not aware of Daniel Craig before Bond...?? The producers in no way would have chosen him as the latest Bond had he not already proven himself adept at humor...!
Don't kid yourselves, folks. Mr. Craig's appearance on SNL in September has been well planned far in advance by the Powers That Be.

I still don't think so. In addition, none of the track titles on The 2nd Law would appear to fit SKYFALL.It's going to be MUSE. And perhaps one of the album's songs is THE Bond song.

Of course, it was planned far in advance. And I am aware of his talent for comic timing. C´mon...

I dunno, 'Survival' seems fitting.
Also, I still have a feeling that Muse would be announced on Global Bond Day, then the SNL could have an exclusive on the music video.
