Untitled Batman Reboot (2015/2016)

Origin stories are great and all, but being that the franchise is being rebooted so quickly following the Nolan films, another origin story isn't necessary. Something similar to how Batman's back story was handled in Burton's 1989 film would be sufficient enough. As the viewer, much like readers during the Kane/Finger era, get the idea of why Bruce became Batman, but didn't get much overt elaboration on the details.
Just hit the ground running.

Anyway
I feel that we need something more on the line of BTAS with the Bat Family, It should really show Batman and His Co-operation with his mates and yes thank god we are moving on from Christian Bale's horrible potrayal of the Batman. The only thing that made the dark knight triology stand out was its superb villains

One element I hope/look forward to seeing in the reboot, is the more fantastical elements of the Batman mythos that didn't necessarily lend itself to the approach Nolan took with his trilogy. As there are indeed many Bat-Villains that fit into this criteria that I believe would shine if given a proper film interpretation.

The Riddler
The Penguin
Poison Ivy
Clayface (Matt Hagen version)
Deathstroke
Anarchy (Who will feature prominently in the new animated series)

-i'd disagree heavily on the Batsuit point. i just think this is one thing the films have got RIGHT. keep it all black IMO. Black is best. grey is an aweful colour. just on the big screen i think anything else would look weird.
- i agree with the general points about gotham. i'm thinking 80% burton and 20% nolan. 0% schumacher. it has to contain big, overtly gothic statues and the like. i love that look. and it really shud avoid the obvious camera shots of well-known cities. a few here and there are fine but TDKR went overboard with manhattan shots.
- also agree with aceofspades comment about darkness. burton/nolan films were dark but i'd like this to be just as dark, if not darker- which again sorta ties in with the above point about making it a predominantly burtonian gotham city.
- i like the 1930s idea BUT we all know the next one will be part of the whole Justice league universe. so maybe shelf the 30s idea for the next reboot after this one?????
- i think robin should be saved for the 2nd/3rd film in the series. keep batman on his own for at least 1 film IMO. and then maybe turn robin into nightwing for the final film in the series perhaps??
- also agree on the point about keeping the Joker til the last film. keep the best til last and by then we'll probably be in the mid 2020s so the legacy of ledger will have subsided somewhat. i agree some distance needs to be had before we see the joker on-screen again. HAVING said that i still think there should be a few subtle references to him in earlier films- which would play a big part in building him up for when we finally saw him.

by all means do a JLA movie containing batman, superman, wonderwomen etc,,,,, it will be a good laugh and no doubt a box office hit. but afterwards distance it as much as possible from the batman reboot. for me batman shud always be part of his own real-life universe where he is the only superhero (with occasional help from robin) & ultimately him and robin are still mortal real life human beings with no unnatural superpowers.
- oh and definitely would be nice to see some new villains we haven;t seen before in the new reboot- clayface, killer croc, blackmask, harley quinn, man-bat etc, etc etc. just don;t make them schumacher-ish and overly camp, over the top and stupid.

The Justice League simply can't coexist in the same universe as Christopher Nolan's Batman, which Nolan himself has repeatedly made clear. Even if a JUSTICE LEAGUE film didn't explicitly reference events from THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, using Gordon-Levitt would imply that the 'rebooted' Batman is the same character he played in TDKR.

Why not do straight adaptations from the comics? None of the superhero movies have ever done that, except Watchmen which is a little different. They pick and choose various characters and stories from the comics to influence the films but they're always their own original stories, Only the animated movies do straight adaptations. Forget origins and forget setting up franchises, just do what the animated films do and make some standalone films adapted straight from some of the best comic stories.

If he packed on muscle like Tom Hardy did for 'Warrior'(which he didn't), then fine, but still, Batman shouldn't be 5 foot 10 inches.
Christian Bale is under six foot, Michael Keaton even shorter.

Michael Keaton will ALWAYS be my Batman. Brilliant in the first two Tim Burton films, and my first introduction to the Dark Knight.
And reports say Joseph Gordon-Levitt is evading questions about his involvement with Justice League as Batman, the sort they do when they are involved by can't say anything and just say "Ohhh I can't say anything, you know that...!"

That would mean a continuation (of sorts) of Nolan's Batman, despite Nolan's opinion there was no room for JLA in his universe. Clever move perhaps, leaving it to the audience to decide whether it's Nolan's 'Robin' or not who appears in the film.

Eh for me it's Christian Bale. He was not the problem with TDK trilogy. Although, Batman Begins was not a problem at all. It was all the absurdity of TDK and TDKR.

'Officially' maybe... Bale is more like 5' 11" in real life (he appears taller because he's so skinny), Keaton on the other hand is 5'7" on a good day - that guy is short with a capital 'S'.
