I am prepared for the worst, and this looks just like it. The ”young techno-nerd” has been done to death in spy-films/spoofs so it all feels a little bit too predictable now. And these films tried to copy Bond in the first place…

Nice one, thanks for the update!

Mm..have to say though...not overly impressed by the look. I thought it would be a typical nerd-linger look for the gadget-man, and this is just it. The big black glasses, boffy hair, shirt and tie done perfectly with the old cardigan. Meh.

Looks like someone fresh out of Oxford or Cambridge Uni with a 1st Degree in Technology or something.

I know the character has to start somewhere...but even Desmond Llewelyn's interpretation didn't make him overtly geeky, but rather a covertly brilliant operative who you wouldn't look twice at to think he's the brains behind all the lethal and inventive gadgety and vehicles.


Sorry if I'm spouting nonsense, I'm sure it will grow on me...just nothing impressive by this really.

Yes, that's definitely a good thing there.

Have to say it's indeed just what one would imagine, not an overly tremendous surprise. Let's see what the character is about to do in SF. Hopefully it's something significant.

Completely agreed.

I was completely expecting this to be the look, so I'm not at all surprised by it, just disappointed. But, then again, there's been little information that has come out about Skyfall that I've found to be even remotely promising (aside from the cast), so this is just keeping in line with that.

Looks like the brief case he is examining has had some wear and tear, perhaps it is something Bond brought back from the field?

Kinda surprised they went the obvious route with him- but, on the plus side he doesnt look very impressed and im sure is the source of some witty moments by the looks of him. I dont have a bad word to say about Ben Whishaw as an actor either so no doubt he will be great- i still think if he got stronger he would have made a nice James Bond in the future but hey I'll take Q too!!

I like that they avoided the trap of bringing in another officious/avuncular type and went in a different direction with the character. Among other things, having a thirty-something in charge of the whole technical branch could make for some interesting dialogue.
