If it is to be Adele, the song will already have been recorded, and her pregnancy will have little or no impact.

Exactly, she’s 7 months pregnant right now. There is reason to think the song was recorded towards the end of February.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the last Bond songs were recorded in July. If the song was already recorded, it would be extremely difficult to hide it from the media... and fans. I believe that ANOTHER artist will be picked at the late hour. And LANA DEL REY, very hot in the USA these days, will do the job.

I believe the past two Bond songs were announced in July, but not necessarily recorded then. In fact, I think they were probably recorded before that.

When the press releases came out towards the end of July, they said that the songs had already been recorded.

No, I was talking about the songs for the last two films.

Another telling example might be that Garbage were chosen to perform TWINE in January, but were not announced until the first week of August. By which time the song and been recorded for months.

I thought that The World is Not Enough was recorded in July after a concert in Lisbon @Expo 98, which was around June-July that year (1999).

I stand corrected, Manson's vocal was recorded then.

This might be why they had a slightly later announcement (August), but the point is, it was all done and dusted before they told us anything.

Oh no, please not Lana Del Rey. I'd rather have Jack White back than have Lana Del Rey come anywhere near a Bond theme. Adele I could handle.

I remember that when Jonathan Ross started to sing the bond theme tune to her, back then, I found her denial a bit "too quick"... Gave me the impression that she'd just revealed more than she wanted to, and tried to cover it... Or maybe I'm just imagining things...

Anyway, I am 100% up for her doing it...

Can Daniel Klienman really have started work on the titles without a song to set them to?

Lyrics, at least a rough instrumental, running time - the latter perhaps can be tweaked, but he must be working from something.

I look forward to being pleasantly surprised in November.

If Adele does end up doing the theme song I wont be surprised and by then I wont really care, I hope they wont keep us in the dark much longer.

By now, a demo of the song surely exists. Whether or not the recording is complete, who knows. Thereotically, it just has to happen before the film opens. They could do it in late September or early October, realistically. They won't, and that would be putting themselves into perhaps an unnecessary corner re: deadlines, but they could.

I'm all for Adele and couldn't really be bothered to fancy any alternative choices at the moment. Chart gold.

Lana Del Rey?
That would be a year too late. She's done in Europe.

Great single last year, but the album dissapointed. Typical One-Hit-Wonder.

The Lana Del Ray EP (released this January) was brilliant. "Video Games", "Born to Die", "Blue Jeans" and the Lolita complex of "A Day At The Races." Featuring none of the radio-friendly junk from the album.

Adele is the easy. safe and predictable choice. I want to hear some hard, rock based thing ala Chris Cornell.

Whether or not Adele ends up doing it, she was 100% talking about the Skyfall theme in that interview. Had to be.

At first, I too didn’t like “Another Way to Die”, but having listened to it many times, I have come to hate it.

Then try this on for size. My own work ...

Another drama with an overwrought trauma
And catastrophe
Another vice got from living twice
Justifying apathy

Another chill from a thriller
Puts a killer in a tragedy.

CHORUS
A plot left open
A villain calling in
A raft on the ocean
A logic running thin
A Brit in a jacket
A girl showing skin
Oh, something that you think that you can watch
Is just
Another waste of time

Another gimmicky spy
Holding malice in his eyes
Toward the maladjusted bad guy
Another hour of your day flushed away out of boredom
And all that implies
Another mango tree “shell-diving” Honey
With the golden thighs

CHORUS
A boss who’s testy
A woman at a desk
A bim-bo sporting
A name from burlesque
A pun in the title
A death that’s grotesque
Just something that you think that you can watch
Is just
Another waste of time

I think Skyfall theme should be a duet like AWTD, A duet between SHirley Bassey and Tom Jones :D

I agree with you. I would like for either two to do the SKYFALL theme song, provided it is as classy and beautiful as the theme song to "Moonraker". "Another Way to Die" was the worst Bond theme song I have ever heard. i hate Rock N Roll in my james Bond movies. Shame on the producers and David Arnold. Shirley Bassey's "No Good About Goodbye" would have fit perfectly for Quantum of Solace (2008).

More QOS hate. It's flawed, but it's not that bad.

With some tweaks to the lyrics (how could anyone let the those first lines pass muster?) I think AWTD is actually OK.

I just hope it isn't electropop like Madge's Die Another Day, now that could be considered an example of how a Bond theme could go wrong.

You see, I think Madge's DAD and AWTD are in the exact same league of dreadfulness.
