Well, his car is a member of the Automobile Association and the Royal Automobile Club.

Yeah - it's the other badge on there...

I haven't been able to identify that one. Now I'm really curious.

A process of linear thinking, given whose car it actually was, should get you there or thereabouts.

I finally figured it out. James St John-Smythe is an illustrious member of the Variety Club of Jersey.

So what's bizarre about that? You'd expect a jovial toff to be involved in charity work.

Very good, Jim. I think that one qualifies as quadrivia.

Someone else go.

Wot that means is, Cubby Broccoli was a member of the VCJ, as that was his Roller (unless this decal was only on the one that went into the pond?).

It lets the mind wander as to Mr St John Smythe's showbiz talent. I'm thinking - drag act.

Raven always had various libel actions threatening his stuff and I'm prettung sure his last book was either pulled swiftly or never released because of it (his first book had issues too, if I recall correctly/more than vaguely). Not sure if it's the same for Wood and it would possibly be libellous to suggest it is.

If that's it...

Yes, that's it. They both either got sued or threatened with lawsuits for the above mentioned books. The publishers pulped the books after publication. The final Raven book of memoirs did get published, many copies went out to public libraries over the world before the decision to withdraw it was made.

And what in the world does "prettung" mean?

Is that your next question? Bit tough. You may have to give clues.

The prolonged silence suggests that it's my turn to challenge.

Okay:

Who fires more shots in TMWTGG, Bond or Scaramanga?

Let's see...

Scaramanga uses the golden gun to shoot the gangster, Gibson, Hai Fat, and Miss Anders. He also uses an ordinary gun to fire five shots at the wax effigy (four fingers + use your imagination). So that's nine shots. I don't recall Bond firing a single shot until the final duel. I don't remember how many times he fires and misses, but it's only a few. So Scaramanga wins by a mile.

When I posted the question, I'd forgotten about S using Rodney's gun on the 007 dummy, so quite right - S's 9 to Bond's 4 (one wild shot outside, one at S's image, one at the gunslinger and one (finally!) as S himself.

Your go, Mon.

I'll try to think of something. In the meantime, anyone with a good trivia question should feel free to pitch in.

^ doesn't the question have to be found in one bond movie and you have to list that bond movie in the question?
