Yes, it's quite believable. I've suspected that we'd see that in SKYFALL for a while now.

Yeah - I think this was always fairly expected what with one thing and another.

When the original scribe (Morgan) was talking about a positively shocking script element, I think it was always expected to mean M's death.

Because they might want to keep open the possibility of bringing her back for another film.

I believe it, in fact, I think the whole story of Skyfall has been constructed to take us to this conclusion.

I think this is one of the few constants that have been part of Skyfall from the inception of the project. It’s what Peter Morgan was talking about when he called it a ‘shocking story’.

I would expect it to be the bump at the end the plot hook that he has said is still in the script from his original treatment.

Now I've kept away from spoilers for so long. And when I finally get weak and risk a tiny peek

...

it's something I expected anyway.

I accept this as accurate. It's something that has been fairly well foreshadowed by the leaks we've had, but a bit of a shock nevertheless.

Wheels are completely off my spoiler free life style. Bathe me in it all!

That said, how do you do it? Blow her up and vanish forever? Or slowly in Bond's presence? Either way, Bond's reaction should be truly insightful and incredible no matter what way is chosen. I always thought Craig played the quiet but mad part extremely well.

I want to look...but I can't....but....want to.....NO...must not give in.....AGH....resist.....!!

Ok I gave in...it's Bond after all.

Now this does boost the rumours we know and love and want to believe...but again, I still take this with a pinch of salt until we get more as this has been floating around for a while and there is nothing concrete to confirm the rumour itself. But blimey...yeah, if true...!

Aside from that, it is time for this development.

Was quite clear that it would be Dench's last. Let's face it: she'll be at least 80 years old when the next movie starts shooting (even though she looks about ten years younger), and with the reports about her losing her eyesight...
There weren't that many opportunities for returning characters to go out with a big bang, so I expected them to use this one.

a good scene for DC to showcase his immense acting skills. Can't wait.

Hopefully she isn't near a rubbish skip and hides her wallet somewhere safe, we know how ruthless DC can be.

Pretty much what I've been expecting for a while, but good to have further reports. Will be a huge moment in the franchise.

I want chills when this scene happens. Mendes has an incredible finesse when it comes to melodramatic deaths. Paul Newman's scene in Road to Perdition stands out. Terribly excited.

Now that would be a real shock. And a fantastic scene. If that actually happens then Bond has truly proven that he is loyal to his job.

Saw the title, guessed, and was not even remotely surprised that I was right. It's a small spoiler, because we still don't know the conditions, and therefore how it will impact us as an audience.

Glad I saw this and yeah, I'm not surprised. It's good to get mentally prepared for this scene so that I'll be ready for it when the film comes out. And yeah, as much as I love Judi as M, I'm perfectly okay with her leaving the role of M. Seven Bond films over 17 years is quite a remarkable achievment..She's more than made her mark on the series.

No. Eon would never make a nonsense out of every film they made with her before this. Which in affect that would do. This will be played for pathos, full stop.
