Precisely! Please, enough of rogue-Bond. Let him be on duty for goodness sake.

To be fair, we really haven't had rogue-Bond since those few scenes in the beginning of Die Another Day. He was on duty for the entirety of Casino Royale, and he was also on duty for the entirety of Quantum of Solace, although M and her bosses thought he had gone rogue when he actually hadn't.

Alright, I have to come clean, the reason I know this is a fake is because I saw the REAL rough cut of the trailer, and it's nothing like this. Here's what I saw, though my memory is a bit foggy...

The trailer starts with somber music over the MGM and Sony logos as the screen gradually fades into a low angle shot of a memorial service. Ralph Fiennes voice begins by saying, " Explain yourself."

Quick cut to black and fade open into a closer shot of caskets draped in Union Jack flags, M barely visible over the line of coffins. Dench's voice chimes in, " Are you asking me to apologize for the past?" Fiennes interrupts her, " This operation cost the lives of eight patriots. Your secrecy has compromised our national security."

Cut to the interior of Parliament, with M seated in front of a council, "You know how our world operates. You go shining lights in dark places and you're not going to like what you see."

Fiennes glares at her, then the screen cuts to a night shot of well dressed man in the shadows, moving slowly along a wall, a massive window to his right and the Shanghai skyline illuninating the distance. Fiennes voice speaks, " Your reputation is beyond repair."

The man reaches into his coat and extracts a small pistol, he is only seen from the shoulders down. M speaks, " You seem to have forgotten something, Admiral."

Cut back to parliament and Fiennes, the music ends " Yes, the man whose escape you helped facilitate. A mister..."

Cut to M, "Bond....James Bond." Cut back to Shanghai as Bond's face emerges from the shadows, raising his walther like in the photo we saw today.

Que the Bond theme as a ton of shots, beutifully rendered by Deakins, come into focus. I can't remember all of them, but I do remember Bond taking heavy fire from a silenced machine gun in neon lighting, Craig chasing Bardem's character through Charing cross station, Naomi Harris seated in a dark trench coat in a well furnished room with a sniper rifle in her lap, a range rover racing past the camera, Bond fighting for the wheel as men in the vehicle behind try to shoot out the tires, a chaotic fight between Bond and Bardem on a speeding commuter train underground, and a few shots of a footchase in which a bald character performs some spectacular free running in which he hurls himself into a moving van from the hood of another car. Before the title card, the dialogue picks up again as Bond exits the National Gallery. It's Fiennes speaking, " This is your last chance, where is it?"

Cut to black, and slowly fade open to M as her eyes drift to one of the windows in the building, looking toward the sky. Fiennes turns and looks as well, as do several other people in the chamber, including Helen Mclory and Albert Finney. A few begin to get to their feet as an excited murmer begins to stir. Cut back to Bond as he wanders into the middle of a crowd of people and looks up, his expression dropping as realization dawns on him. Smash to black, as the word SKYFALL slowly fades into focus and suddenly fades out. AND JUST WHEN YOU THINK THE AWESOMENESS IS OVER! The roar of an engine, the eruption of gunfire, and smash cut to a low angle shot of the DB5 as it takes heavy fire. Quick cut to an angle from basically the back seat, we see M in the front passenger seat, she speaks, " James-"

Bond finally speaks, " I see them." The camera then cuts to his hand on the stick as he flips open a hidden panel on the top, revealing a little red button. Cut to the rearview mirror as Bond darts his eyes and stares into it and therefore into the camera. Smash to black again with the release date and other info.

So there you go. The REAL trailer info.

True. You're right. But the "losing himself in the Bahamas" and his resignation mail from Venice in CR and the "escape in the elevator after M's orders to take him" on QoS, surely gives that vibe.

Alright, I have to come clean, the reason I know this is a fake is because I saw the REAL rough cut of the trailer, and it's nothing like this. Here's what I saw, though my memory is a bit foggy...

Very true.

I don't disagree with the overall premise that they need to get back to a style more in line with the pre-GE films where there were no trust issues between Bond and his employers, which has been a common thread in the recent entries. What I'd like for them to do is maintain the current direction, with Bond being a bit edgier and the films more gritty and emotionally charged than what we've seen in the past, but without all of the trust issues that have complicated the Bond/M relationship for the last few films.

Sounds like the world's longest teaser trailer. Plus too many shots described that sound like they'd have to be shot overseas - villa/desert - which hasn't happened. Would have been great if true, but alas not.

I prefer Matt's anyway!

I want to believe it, but I can't...but I sort of do...but I can't until I see anything. Like you all say, sounds like jigsaw pieces of the set pics and rumours we've heard.

This is just a pre-tease to a teaser if anything!

That is absolutely, totally, blatantly fake. It's every rumour from the last 2 days rolled into one amazingly-detailed description of a trailer this guy only saw once, and briefly. Yeah....

It's every rumor since the start of filming, and evidently every scene from the start of filming rolled into a ten minute trailer. Like I said, we won't have the real deal until May, IF we're lucky.

It just seems to me that a few of these amazingly recounted images um...HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN FILMED YET...*ahem* based on what we know of locations and the events to unfold at them.

Also, studios don't "screen" trailers. It's all overseen by whatever post-house is assigned the task and the producers of the film. Lastly, as mentioned, February is too early for a teaser trailer.

I'm with Stromberg...Toss it on the pile.

I´m actually hoping we don´t get much from the teaser and trailer. Just enough to wet our appetites. Same goes for posters and images. Till now, all "released" images (pool and ppk) haven´t spoiled anything.

I believe, like the rest of you, that this is most likely fake. It would be nice if certain things regarding it are true, namely the idea that it would be mistaken for a political thriller or a war movie before Bond is revealed, but this is clearly a fake, for reasons already mentioned by others.

One thing that I would have been really wary about in this if it were real is Bond's supposedly being "resigned" from the service. Granted, I haven't been following any of the spoilers at all (the publicity still is the first thing regarding SkyFall that I have seen or heard to this point), but it would seem as though having Bond resigned at the beginning of the story would go against the ending of QoS completely, where Bond answers M's "We need you back" with "I never left."

Absolutely. I would hate this to be true.

This is a true report and trailers do screen. They are tested on audiences who usually must sign off posting about it on the internet. The other one trying to mock the real one just shows how real is the real one.

This Bond film borrows a lot from YOLT, and that includes Bond having quit the service at the beginning.

Bond didn't quit the service at the beginning of YOLT; he did contemplate resignation early in OHMSS, and if this film is like that one, most of us will be extremely happy.

Not quite. He feels he's been "letting the side down," and when he suspects that M is about to fire him, offers his resignation. M refuses to accept it and sends Bond off to Japan. (YOLT, chapter 3).
