Tough one...I'd have to say Quantum.. I think that everyone was swept up in the Sean Connery-is-back-as-007 during Diamonds that they didn't seem to care about the film's "campiness".. Quantum, too many people had way too high expectations in it's following Casino Royale..

Better Bond film to introduce a person to, who has never seen a Bond film in their life... Start at the beginning with Dr. No OR go with one of the more well known ones, like Goldfinger?

This is a tough one because it all depends on the tastes of the person in question. If they like action films, then I'd go with the more well known action thrillers like GF, TB or TSWLM. But if they like character driven stories with less of an emphasis on action then yes I would go with Dr. No. It all depends on the person.

If one film from the series had to be omitted:

Casino Royale

OR

On Her Majesty's Secret Service

?

CR. Eliminating OHMSS from the canon could possibly effect negatively all the post-1970 era of Bond films that came after it(including CR) like pulling out the bottom block of a tower puzzle.

Which 1980s Bond film/1960s Bond spinoff double feature would you rather watch:

Octopussy

and

flint_1___our_man_flint_front_large.jpg

or

The Living Daylights

I think 'Octopussy' and 'Our Man Flint' could be a good light-hearted combo!

Which Daniel Craig vehicle stunt was best?

'Casino Royale' - The Aston Martin DBS crash

OR

'Skyfall' - The pre-title car and motorbike chase

Skyfall because it lasted a little longer then in Casino Royale when he only drives it for a minute before crashing.

Which transition worked better for you ; AVTAK to TLD OR LTK to GE?

Skyfall because it lasted a little longer then in Casino Royale when he only drives it for a minute before crashing.

True, but the Casino Royale crash did set a world record for how many times the car rolled.

Which transition worked better for you ; AVTAK to TLD OR LTK to GE?

AVTAK to TLD, because there are too many inconsistencies from LTK to GE, as if Martin Campbell wanted to completely bypass the Dalton films what with the PTS taking place in 1986 and Bond answering M he'd "never" go rogue seeking vengeance for the death of an agent.

With that in mind, which Martin Campbell film is more in canon with other Bond films?

Casino Royale or GoldenEye?

GoldenEye, obviously. CR is only canon with the last two.

I never got the impression that GE was trying to erase Dalton's contribution by starting the story in 1986. If anything it helped explain why Bond was so dour for the rest of the decade, and it was nice to see that he'd lightened up a bit in the early 90s. As for telling M that he'd never go rogue - well, it was a new M who of course knew Bond's record, so I think the irony was deliberate.

Better villain car:

Goldfinger's Rolls Royce "Silver" Ghost

or

Graves/Zao's Jaguar?

Goldfinger's Rolls Royce. One because it's a Rolls and two I can't, in good faith, pick anything from Die Another Day.

Bigger instance, when you wish Bond would just let the annoying girl die:

Tanya whining, while being trapped in the elevator

OR

Goodnight complaining about....well....anything

I have to go with Pussy Galore - at least Octopussy has her name rooted with some sort of symbolism! Miss Galore...well, god knows!

Which Conenry vehicle stunt was the best...?

'Thunderball' - The jetpack escape

OR

'Diamonds Are Forever' - The AMC chase in Las Vegas

I actually never was really a fan of the jetpack which seems dated now and I didn't care for the rear bullet proof shield or how the water doesn't shoot straight out of the DB5.

So I would have to go with DAF's AMC chase which I always liked although they could have re-filmed the mistake when the car comes out of the ally on the wrong wheels.

Which title song do you like the most AVTAK or TLD?

Hmm, interesting toss-up, but I'll have to say The Living Daylights, as I can't in good faith choose anything from AVTAK (and that includes Tanya over Goodnight).

BTW the AMC chase was in TMWTGG, not DAF. In Vegas it was Fords all the way.

Better Maguffin:

The Lector decoder

The Solex Agitator

The ATAC

or

The GoldenEye disk

?

Spot on AMC. It was a Mustang Mach 1 in DAF. The AMC Hornet was in TMWTGG.

mustang-mach1-diamonds-are-forever-1971-

The Solex Agitator. At least the Lektor, the ATAC and the Goldeneye disk actually had relevancy in the story. The Solex was completely useless.

Have to go with Live and Let Die...

Better Bond vehicle to go off-roading in / on...One of the Honda ATC90 three wheelers from Diamonds Are Forever OR one of those Land Rovers from the pre-titles of The Living Daylights?

Best Skyfall alternative title left on the table:

Nothing is Forever

Once Upon a Spy?

Nothing is Forever.

Once Upon a Spy was the title of a 1980 made-for-TV film featuring Ted Danson and Christopher Lee (the latter as a wheelchair-bound villain - how original!). Good to know the title was rejected, sorry to hear it was ever considered in the first place.

Better villain control centre:

Stromberg's Liparus

or

Drax's Brazilian launch complex

Drat, sorry AMC! Don't know why I got that mixed up with a Mustang!

I love both, but give the edge to the Liparus just for the sheer size and scale of what it holds, like a strange Transformer.

'Octopussy' - Great fun and a solid Bond film?

YES - A perfect balance of Moore humour and a serious, well laid out story with a great production, haunting soundtrack and great cast

OR

NO - Just another creaky entry with Moore past his use, going too far with the racism and humour at times to detract the story

2014 at the earliest

Should James Bond video games stop now?

YES - They've gotten steadily desperate and much worse, and '007 Legends' proved they've no new material or direction for VG Bond.

OR

NO - It just needs the right developer and the right style to re-boot the VG Bond character and really make it a competetive title

Oops, thanks for pointing that out. I didn't even see that! But I'm sure you could put out a much better product than 007 Lege-- whoops almost said....the game that shall not be named.

No, it just needs the right developer and the right style to reboot the VG Bond and really make a competitive title.

There are studios and publishers out there that know how to make a quality game, even one based on a movie or a comic book. Best example: Batman Arkham Asylum/Arkham City. Rocksteady crafted what is easily one of the best games of this generation, let alone the best licensed game. It is possible to make a great licensed game. The footage of Raven's cancelled Bond game was impressive and I'm sure a developer/publisher who cares more about quality than pumping out Call of Duty after Call of Duty will be able to make a wonderful Bond game.

That said, who is that developer/publisher:

Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix (Tomb Raider)

OR

Rocksteady Studios and Eidos Interactive (Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City)

?

From what I've seen and played, I have to go with Rocksteady Studios and Eidos Interactive. That combo with a Bond game excites me.

Who portrayed the character of Fleming's Bond the worst in your eyes for their own reasons -

Roger Moore

or

Pierce Brosnan

Brosnan I guess because when I read the books I never picture him as Bond. I think of him as a new age Bond I suppose and perhaps something Bond would have been if his birth was postponed.

Have to say Brosnan in 86...Sure he may have only gotten to do TLD and LTK, but he would have been spared finishing his Bond run on a low point with Die Another Day..

Worse attempt at an accent... the British actor who attempted to portray the Russian prison guard who fights with Dalton in The Living Daylights OR Barbara Bach's Russian accent in The Spy Who Loved Me?

Die Another Day. The World Is Not Enough's sequence is way too long (22 minutes I think).

For the next Bond game should Bond be played by:

The current film actor whether that be Craig or Bond 7

OR

A different actor as happened with Agent Under Fire, Nightfire and From Russia With Love (Connery was not the current Bond)

The current film actor whether that be Craig or Bond 7 - it always makes it more fun playing the current incarnation I think.

Superman is back in 'Man Of Steel' tomorrow. Are you...

EXCITED- It's been too long for a decent Superman film and I hope his lays a foundation for a strong, much deserved sequel

OR

NOT FUSSED - Never been into the Superman films, and this looks a modified 'Batman Begins' for the Krypton era.

Not fussed- Never been into Superman period (let alone the films) and this definitely looks like a modified "Batman Begins" for the Krytonian. Also, after the initial reviews, they have been getting steadily more negative.

Will Man of Steel eventually lead to a Justice League of America film:

Yes, MoS will revive the DC universe in the way Iron Man did for Marvel leading to the ultimate team-up a la 2012's The Avengers

OR

No, MoS will be too riveted in realism a la Nolan's TDK trilogy and will not lend itself well to the JLA universe

?

I think it will happen. It was announced the MOS sequel is being fast tracked perhaps after that. Maybe they will do another Green Lantern film and too, even if it wasn't that well received.

Too early to tell, but I'll say it's own film.

What will the fallout from Skyfall do to Bond 24:

Create an immeasureable amount of hype that, no matter what, it will never be able to exceed (Quantum of Solace's problem)

OR
Skyfall won't matter. Bond 24 will be Bond's Spiderman 2/The Dark Knight and will surpass Skyfall

I fear it will create an immeasureable amount of hype that, no matter what, it will never be able to exceed. Do well perhaps, but not exceed and people will feel short changed.

Are Bond fans too demanding?

YES - We want bigger, better and more Bond each time with the solid foundations laid to be worked on just like the older films did, and a fast production turnout! EON need to understand they need us more than we need them.

OR

NO - We have accepted lots of ups and downs and changes that constantly darken the future, but we will stick it out and not ask questions. In Bond we trust.
