From Russia With Insomnia

Which Derek Flint film female lead should've also been a 1960s Bond girl:

Jean Hale(Lisa from In Like Flint)

or

Gila Golan(Gila from Our Man Flint)

Damn, both are gorgeous.  I'll take Gila Golan though since I, as a gentleman, prefer brunettes.

Is it more fun...

to watch and read James Bond

OR

to blog about it

Watch and read James Bond. Not many things more exciting than sitting in a darkened theater at the first screening of a new James Bond adventure.

If Christopher Nolan is brought on as director will:

Bond 24 be told with flashbacks to Bond's childhood

OR

Bond will be suffering from short-term memory loss and can only remember what has happened in the last 5 minutes

?

Either is a good choice. Gila Golan was Miss Israel 1961 and a contender for the lead role on I Dream of Jeannie. She made a guest star appearance in one of my favorite episodes:

Back to the game:

The Spy Who Loved Me directed by Guy Hamilton

or

The Man With The Golden Gun directed by Lewis Gilbert?

The Man With The Golden Gun directed by Lewis Gilbert could have been really interesting.

If Nolan directs, who would you like to play the film from his usual suspects; Iiam Neeson OR Gary Oldman ?

Liam Neeson. I like Gary Oldman, but I don't see him in the Bond-verse.

If Nolan directs, who is more likely to be cast:

Marion Cotillard

OR
Michael Caine

?

Marion Cotillard - to give the film a nice exotic, continental touch.

How many James Bond films do you think there will by 2023?

28

OR

25

25.  DC does one more film, then casting goes awry and Bond 25 is a disaster.  The franchise takes takes an extended and possibly permanent hiatus.  (But CBn lives on forever.)

Delicious, buttery popcorn...and a cold Coca-Cola in a cup the size of my head.

In the final analysis, when Bond stands naked and dripping trans-dimensional slime in front of his maker, and his decisions and actions taken in the name of Queen and Country are considered, will 007 be sent to...

Heaven his heart seems like its in the right place although I always felt they crossed the line with Bond is responsible for Solitaire losing her power.

Marion Cotillard for sure, perhaps as an adversarial character who turns out to be an ally (as with The Dove in FYEO).

Will the next 007 actor...

Hit the weight room as DC did and be a beast

OR

Not make it a priority and be a little more like Pierce Brosnan, who lifted pints before the shoot?

Would you rather see:

A 1967 On Her Majesty's Secret Service with Connery as Bond and directed by Lewis Gilbert

or

A 1969 You Only Live Twice with Lazenby as Bond and directed by Peter Hunt?

Definitely Connery in OHMSS. Would have been funny to see him ski as much as I would like to have seen Lazenby get the Japanese makeover.

Who would you rather have the return of in Bond 24 ; Mr. White OR Blofeld?

I'm going out there and saying Blofeld. Batman has the Joker, Superman has Luthor, Bond has Blofeld - it'd be the perfect time to bring him back and show some REAL menace and evil plots in teh 21st Century!

Which villains have caused Bond the most trouble do you think -

Russians / Soviets

OR

Orientals

??

Without trying to think to much about it, I would have to say the Russians because of the Cold War I suppose but that might be changing.

What Bond gadget which I've tweaked would you rather see use in Bond 24;

A suit that makes Bond appear invisible/cloaked

OR

a signature gun that not only does not work when fired by someone else but shocks them too?

Has to be the signature gun in these Bond times.

If the Bond movies had come first, and a new spy author has started apating them into faithful novels, would the books be as successful as they are now?

NO - Fleming had to do it first, with no comparison or bar to raise and with no films to compare them to

OR

YES - If they capture the essence of the films well, they could have been just as record breaking in literature

YES - as long as they capture the essence of the films well, they still could be record breaking..

Say for a future Bond film, the producers and screenwriter / writers ask Bond fans to submit ideas that they could incorporate into the film...Good idea, as there could be a gold mine of interesting scenarios for the character OR Bad idea...too many differing views and opinions about Bond that it just wouldn't work??

GOOD IDEA-as long as they use my ideas!   ;)   (I don't think they will ask.  Probably just glean what they can off CBn posters like us.)

Would you be more accepting of...

Bond with some gray hair

OR

Bond with some body hair?

Well we've had both (Connery and Pierce both had chest hair and Connery, Moore and Pierce all went gray towards the end of their tenures), but I'll go with the body hair as the three of them all looked too old at the end of their runs.

Jason Bateman as Bond

Oh I'll go with Daniel Craig as Michael Bluth.  You never know what he might gravitate towards, role-wise.  Bateman might make a pretty good Felix Leiter, though...

Should Jeffrey Wright return as a brother from Langley in Bond 24

OR

It's time for a new actor or perhaps no Felix Leiter at all?

Jeffrey Wright should return as Felix. I missed him in Skyfall.

James Bond in the mirror universe:

James Bond, the leader of SPECTRE, battles Agent 007: Ernst Stavro Blofeld

OR

Comrade Bond is a special confidant to Josef Stalin, an agent for the UKSSR: United KIngdom of Soviet Socialist Republics

Hmmm...interesting.  I'll go with Comrade Bond is a special confidant to Josef Stalin, an agent for the UKSSR: United KIngdom of Soviet Socialist Republics.  Very creative idea.

Totally agree with you about Felix Leiter.  Bring Jeffrey back!

Daniel Craig Bond's favorite reading material while on the porcelain throne...

Gentleman's Quarterly. Although, I wouldn't be surprised....

Bond mirror-universe 2:

James Bond impregnates the teacher he had an affair with at Eton and kills her to prevent the child from being born

OR

Andrew Bond was actually a spy working against England and never meets Monique Delacroix, thereby Bond is never born

Have to say I'm enjoying it. At the moment, and spark to get a good CBn debate going with us all is great while we wait for official information!

If it turns out to be true and Christopher Nolan DOES take directing duties for 'Bond 24' would you be -

EXCITED - A groundbreaking director could bring even more emotional, character and visual spectacle depth to build on 'Skyfall'. It could be almost Skyfall v.2

OR

WORRIED - We've had too much dark Bond and we are on the edge of having him back in the daylight. Nolan will simply repeat a character based, emotional and almost psycological journey and could be too dark.

EXCITED- Nolan could do a very good job with Bond in my opinion.. (by the way, I'm staying out of whatever arguing / squabbling that might be going on in the "Christopher Nolan to direct Bond 24" thread)

Having seen Star Trek: Into Darkness last night, and absolutely LOVED it, Would Benedict Cumberbatch make for a better...Bond villain OR fellow MI6 agent or even 007 himself?

Yup.  Star Trek: Kids in Space was pretty entertaining alright.  My wife and I were having this very conversation after seeing it this morning.  She thinks Benedict would be best as a villain, but I actually think he has the chops to pull off 007.  I just think he would bring something very different from DC's current version and it would be interesting to see.

So...I'll take a chance and go with 007 himself.

Not having to save the world this summer, does Bond takes on a girlfriend for a few months.  Is she...

The slightly goofy-looking Asian girl who works at the MI5 security desk and has a penchant for visiting sex shops

OR

the new girl in MI6 personnel, who resembles Vesper but is so shy that she can only stare at Bond's crotch when he talks to her

Do you think Bond 24 can make it out by 2015 OR No, not until 2016?
