Both good, but something about Bond, Kara and Saunders sizzles for me with underlying tension.
Best sequence in 'Licence To Kill'
The pre-title jeep/helicopter chase
OR
The water-ski/plane chase
??

The water-ski/plane chase. It's fun seeing Dalton's Bond go into TB-mode.
Better 1980s Bond henchman/Bond girl mixup:
Gobinda(OP) meets Kara Milovy(TLD)
or
Necros(TLD) meets Magda(OP)?
Posted 15 February 2016 - 06:10 AM
Gobinda and Kara
Preferred scene in Skyfall:-
Bond meets Severine in the casino
or
Bond finds Kincade in the house
??
Posted 15 February 2016 - 07:59 AM
Bond and Severine; the whole sequence oozes glamour and looks really beautiful. And so does Severine.
Which moment is the best "Bond is a bastard" for Roger Moore...
Bond pushes the street urchin over the side of the boat in 'The Man With The Golden Gun'
OR
Bond reveals the fixed deck of "Lover" cards in 'Live And Let Die'
??
Posted 18 February 2016 - 01:02 AM
The cards in LALD
Preferred villain:-
Stromberg
or
Drax
??
Posted 18 February 2016 - 01:51 AM
Drax.
Better Bond rescuing a damsel-in-distress scene:
Bond rescuing Wai Lin from drowning in the sea at Carver's stealth ship in Tomorrow Never Dies
or
Bond rescuing Madeline from the deathtrap Oberhauser a.k.a. Blofeld set for her at MI6's about to be demolished HQ in SPECTRE?
Posted 18 February 2016 - 08:21 AM
Posted 22 February 2016 - 01:22 AM
Forcing himself on Pussy.
Preferred car chase:-
TLD in the snow
or
DAD on the ice
??
Posted 22 February 2016 - 02:04 AM
I have to go with DAD because, for once, Bond didn't have an unfair advantage.
I'd long wanted to see what a chase would look like if Bond were outgunned for a change. The DAD chase split the difference.
Bigger bitch:
Paris Carver
or
?
(Or, to put it another way, would Mrs. Carver have been a better character if she'd been played by Talisa Soto?)
Posted 22 February 2016 - 03:53 AM
Carver. By the way, do you count Goldfinger as Bond losing a car chase?
Preferred PTS:-
TWINE
or
LALD
??
Posted 22 February 2016 - 08:15 AM
Sheer Brosnan, but so well executed - has to be 'TWINE'.
Best introduction to a Bond in a debut:
007 in bed with a beautiful woman, hiding her from his superiors and then using a gadget to undress her
OR
Infiltrating a top-secret facility with a daring stunt, hiding in shadows, then taking down a guard with a wry quip
??
Posted 22 February 2016 - 09:36 PM
The latter
Preferred scene in SPECTRE:-
Bond meeting Denbigh
or
Q lies to M about Bond's location
??
Posted 23 February 2016 - 08:37 AM
Bond meeting Denbigh is a pretty good, sly humour.
Best intro for a 007 debut:
Introducing yourself in a smoky casino to a beautiful lady, winning a good amount of the game
OR
Hiding in the shadows, letting your target know his time is up before assassinating him
??
Posted 24 February 2016 - 12:02 AM
Introducing yourself in a smoky casino to a beautiful lady, winning a good amount of the game.
Better Roger Moore/Maud Adams chemistry:
As Bond and Andrea Anders in TMWTGG
or
As Bond and Octopussy Smythe in OP?
Posted 24 February 2016 - 05:26 AM
Octopussy
Preferred sequence:-
Bond in Rio in Moonraker
or
Bond in Hamburg in TND
??
Posted 24 February 2016 - 08:17 AM
I do like the Hamburg sequence in 'TND'.
Best intro for a 007 debut:
Chasing down and spying on a mysterious lady before saving her life
OR
Rooting out a rogue agent killing off your allies in a cat-and-mouse chase
??
Posted 24 February 2016 - 05:18 PM
I'll go with the former, OHMSS-scenario..
Mix-up Blofelds... Christoph Waltz's Blofeld with George Lazenby's 007 in OHMSS, Telly Savalas' Blofeld with Sean Connery in YOLT, OR Donald Pleasence's Blofeld with Daniel Craig's 007 in SPECTRE?
Posted 24 February 2016 - 05:21 PM
Savalas and Connery in YOLT makes the best combo.
Which would make the better mini-marathon:
Each actor's first film (DN, OHMSS, LALD, TLD, GE & CR)
or
second (FRWL, TMWTGG, LTK, TND & QoS)
or
third (GF, TSWLM, TWINE & SF)
or
fourth (TB, MR, DAD & SP)
?
Posted 24 February 2016 - 09:43 PM
That's a tough one, I will go for the 2nd movie marathon
Preferred scene:-
Bond's trip from the airport to Kerim Bey's place in Istanbul in FRWL
or
Bond's trip via seaplane and car to the Ocean Club in CR
??
Posted 25 February 2016 - 04:26 PM
Bond's trip to the Ocean Club. Very smoothly executed.
Which helicopter take out was best?
Flare into the cockpit and crash into a cliff in 'A View To A Kill'
OR
Rotor trapped in clothes wire and crashing into a building in 'Tomorrow Never Dies'
??
Posted 25 February 2016 - 05:31 PM
The iceberg copter crash in A View To A Kill.. (For the TND one, at the last seconds before impact, you can obviously spot the crash test dummies and their arms of the henchmen inside the cockpit)
Best type of scene in a Bond film to enjoy a vesper martin while you are watch... a romantic, love scene, an high paced action scene, OR a dramatic casino or gambling scene ??
Posted 25 February 2016 - 05:36 PM
Casino/gambling scene.
Say what you will about NSNA, Bond's entrance into the Monte Carlo casino was drenched in atmosphere (until they reveal a video arcade on the premises).
More believable plot:
The richest man in the galaxy builds a fleet of space shuttles in secrecy and launches them from five secret bases to rendezvous at a 200m space station built in secrecy and which can't be seen from earth, from which he'll exterminate humanity - thwarted by a man in a boat equipped with torpedoes, mines and a hang glider
or
A North Korean colonel trades surplus weapons for conflict diamonds and undergoes gene therapy in order to pass as a European so he can put a solar laser in orbit which he'll use to eliminate the no-man's land between north and south - thwarted by a man in a car equipped with adaptive camouflage
?
Posted 25 February 2016 - 11:18 PM
Ha ha, excellent descriptions!! I will say DAD was more believable!
Preferred scenario for Bond 25:-
It's called Risico and is set in Monte Carlo and Athens. Blofeld features throughout
or
It's called Shatterhand and is set in Japan and South Korea. Blofeld only appears in the final two scenes
??
Posted 26 February 2016 - 01:24 AM
Risico in Monte Carlo and Athens with Blofeld featured throughout sounds good.
Better villain:
Charles Gray's Blofeld in DAF
or
Curt Jurgens' Karl Stromberg(Blofeld in an earlier script draft) in TSWLM?
Posted 26 February 2016 - 08:36 AM
Both good I think, but I'll go with Stromberg for his classic "world obliteration" plot.
With all the media speculation, do you think Craig is over with 007?
YES - It was clear from the 'SPECTRE' press junket he wasn't totally committed, and this makes sense that he's done
OR
NO - It's all just that; speculation, with little backbone or foundations to it. He'll return for one more at least.
??
Posted 26 February 2016 - 04:03 PM
He'll be dragged back for another forty million performance.
Jonathan Pryce as Max Zorin
or
Christopher Walken as Elliot Carver
?
Posted 28 February 2016 - 09:50 PM
Walken as Carver
Bond 25 to be:-
A taut thriller, with few stunts or explosions, and a low key threat
or
A big, brash countdown-to-World War III scenario with a huge villain lair and 100 commandos storming it
??
Posted 28 February 2016 - 10:07 PM
More armed bastards!
It's been too long. Bond should have picked up a squad of SAS paras on his way from London to Glencoe - then he could have won in SF.
Anthony Hopkins as Alec Trevelyan
or
Anthony Hopkins as Elliot Carver
?
Posted 29 February 2016 - 12:42 AM
Hopkins as Alec Trevelyan(especially if Dalton plays Bond in GE as originally envisioned in this scenario).
Better Bond girl actress/role switch:
Tanya Roberts as Della Churchill Leiter
or
Priscilla Barnes as Stacey Sutton?
Posted 29 February 2016 - 12:59 AM
Priscilla Barnes as Stacey - I'd like to see how that would have worked out.
Which scene do you prefer:-
Citroen 2cv car chase in FYEO
or
Renault taxi car chase in AVTAK
??
