Kevin Spacey as Doctor Coldblood. Perfect Connery-era villain name!
Best Dalton pun:
"He got the boot."
OR
"Looks like he came to a dead end!"
??

Best Dalton pun:
"He got the boot."
OR
"Looks like he came to a dead end!"
??

"He got the boot."
More cringe-worthy Brosnan ending line:
"I thought Christmas only comes once a year."
OR
"You said something about going down together?"
?
Posted 30 January 2015 - 03:41 PM
The Christmas pun/line definitely...
Better classic Bond villain line..
"Mr. Bond is a very rare breed...Soon to be made extinct!" from Octopussy
OR
" No, Mr Bond, I expect you to die!!" from Goldfinger ?
Posted 30 January 2015 - 09:24 PM
"No, Mr Bond, I expect you to die!!" from Goldfinger. Better and much more memorable.
Which fight sequence was better?
Bond vs. Steven Obanno and his bodyguard in Casino Royale
OR
Bond vs. Patrice in Skyfall
Posted 30 January 2015 - 10:03 PM
Love them both, but I have to go with Bond vs. Obanno for the effect it had on Vesper.
Worse Bond game:
007 Racing
OR
007 Legends
?
Posted 01 February 2015 - 05:39 PM
007 Racing, I prefer James Bond games with much more story and although it wasn't the best game. I'd say I'm more invested in 007 Legends.
The most wasted character in the Craig era:
Agent Fields
OR
Severine
Posted 01 February 2015 - 09:59 PM
Severine but she still managed to make her mark.
Better car chase:-
Bond vs motorcycle/sidecar, cars and helicopter in TSWLM
or
The Paris chase from AVTAK
??
Posted 01 February 2015 - 10:04 PM
The chases from the TSWLM. I've never enjoyed the idiocy of Bond driving half a car around Paris. That was dumb even by Roger Moore Bond film standards.
Better Live and Let Die chase:
Bus chase
OR
Plane chase
?
Posted 02 February 2015 - 02:18 AM
They are both fun but I think the bus chase is best.
Which title would you settle for, for a new 007 in Bond 26:-
Bond Returns
or
The Man who Wasn't There
??
Posted 02 February 2015 - 04:07 AM
The Man Who Wasn't Bond.
Better unlikely seduction:
"In the meantime, how do you kill five hours in Rio - if you don't Samba?"
or
"I can't find the - stationery. Will you come and help me look?"
?
Posted 02 February 2015 - 08:28 AM
Hm. Both pretty naff. I'll go for the stationary quip - total lack of imagination or relevance, clearly out to get his end away. At least Rio has connotations to Samba dancing!
What makes 'Die Another Day' most uncomfortable for you to watch as a Bond film (if you don't like it):
The amount of innuendo and lack of tact in delivery
OR
The peculiar film-making (slo/fast camera / dramatic soundtrack etc)
??
Posted 02 February 2015 - 08:29 AM
AMC: I can´t find the stationery. Still not sure how that one worked. Unless Fields was planning to sleep with Bond all along. (Original)
TCR: The peculiar filmmaking (slow/fast camera / dramatic soundtrack etc). Tamahori was a terrible choice to direct and had no idea what film he was making.
Stranger villain motivation:
Elliot Carver starting World War III for ratings
OR
Scaramanga´s obsession with Bond (how does he know everything there is to know about the world´s best secret agent?)
?
EDIT: Whoops, guess we got to that one at the same time tcr .
Posted 02 February 2015 - 08:50 AM
Same answers too! Great minds...
I'll go for Scaramanga. Carver had better motive and it was relevant enough - but Scaramanga was blurred to me. Was he trying to off Bond or simply make some money with the Solex. He wasn't very clear to me and I never felt he was a threat to the entire world, like Carver showed he was.
Taking the theme from sealwolf: Biggest sign that James Bond ISN'T the worlds greatest secret agent:
Zao taking a snapshot on a mobile phone from yards away and it automatically identifies 007 in seconds in 'Die Another Day'
OR
Zorin taking some profile shots on a CCTV computer system and it automatically identifies 007 in seconds in 'A View To A Kill'
??
Posted 02 February 2015 - 12:12 PM
Zorin. He didn't have a spy in MI6 like Zao did.
Proof that Blofeld is Bond's dumbest adversary:
Did not recognize Bond disguised as Sir Hilary Bray, when the only difference was the glasses in On Her Majesty's Secret Service
OR
Leaving his Drilling Station on Willard Whyte's map in Diamonds Are Forever
?
Posted 02 February 2015 - 04:22 PM
(Good point seawolf...I actually neglected that theory...!)
And your answer HAS to be the fact that glasses fooled Blofeld in that Bond wasn't stood inches from his face. Dear me.
Proof that James Bond forgets that he is a secret agent in the field:
Enters the scene of a crime and touches computers, pictures, doors and discs in 'Licence To Kill'
OR
Carries out an open assassination with TV cameras and press around when he didn't NEED to be seen in 'The Living Daylights'
??
Posted 02 February 2015 - 04:41 PM
TCR & Seawolf: Zorin may not have had a mole in MI6, but he did have access to the KGB database.
Just had to get that off my chest.
As for your last post:
Shooting Pushkin on camera was to convince Koskov and Whittaker that Puskin was really dead, so that they would reveal the next step in their plan (although that would have had Judi Dench's M freezing all his cards and putting out a C / K order on him...)
So I'll go with the scene from LTK, although Bond had been a guest at Felix's house and his prints were probably all over the room already. Besides, the crime lab had already been over the place. However, Bond obviously didn't care, as he had already resigned and wasn't thinking straight half the time.
Who from Bond's known past should have reappeared as Carver's wife:
Lupe (Talisa Soto)
or
Stacey (Tanya Roberts)
?
Posted 02 February 2015 - 05:55 PM
Lupe...(Come on, can you really see Elliot Carver being married to a ditz like Stacy? LOL!)
Bond vs Bond in a car road race.. Who wins? Craig in the DBS OR Dalton in the V8 Vantage ??
Posted 02 February 2015 - 06:53 PM
(They were the only two I could see asking "Did I get too close - for comfort?" and then believing Bond when he says "Yes".)
BTW I like your new Avatar. I didn't know Raymond Benson was ever on ST:TNG.
I'd bet on Dalton in the Vantage. At least we knew he could handle the car and not roll it in his first minute behind the wheel.
Better villain's gloat:
"I was always better"
or
"If you're the best they have, they'll more likely try to cover up your embarrassing incompetence"
?
Posted 02 February 2015 - 07:46 PM
Lupe...(Come on, can you really see Elliot Carver being married to a ditz like Stacy? LOL!)
Well he was married to that ditz Paris....
"I was always better." I think it hurt Bond more.
Bigger evidence of MI6's incompetence:
MI6 somehow NOT knowing that Frost and Moon were on the Harvard fencing team together
OR
M NOT knowing her own bodyguard of 8 years was a double agent
?
Posted 02 February 2015 - 08:28 PM
Not knowing about Frost & Moon. They shouldn't have needed to rely on intel from the NSA.
Weirder gadget:
Signature gun disguised as a camera (and packed in a box with a shoulder stock, barrel and telescopic sight)
or
A bug detector disguised as a shaver, that beeps out loud when it detects a bug
?
Posted 03 February 2015 - 01:35 AM
The shaver
Which Bond villain would you prefer to be rebooted in Bond 25?
Scaramanga
or
Goldfinger
??
Posted 03 February 2015 - 05:15 AM
Scaramanga. An assassin for hire with an unhealthy obsession with Bond translates to modern times better than someone who is obsessed with gold.
More successful in their second go as Bond, having one film under their belt:
Moore in TMWTGG
OR
Brosnan in TND ?
Posted 03 February 2015 - 06:10 AM
That is a very close one. I will go with Brosnan. I think Moore still had one more Bond to go.
The main Bond girl in Bond 25 will be called:-
Stephanie Broadchest (and we hear a little snippet of You Know My Name and Bond raises one eyebrow)
or
Kat Garlore (and we hear a little snippet of Goldfinger)
???
Posted 03 February 2015 - 08:23 AM
Stephanie Broadchest - I'd love to see her on screen.
Which vehicle does Dalton look the best in/on/around as James Bond:
A helicopter ('LTK' pre-titles)
OR
A jeep ('TLD' pre-titles)
??
Posted 03 February 2015 - 05:45 PM
Hmm..I'd say the jeep in TLD...
Should we have a "live" performance of the SPECTRE theme song somewhere in the film itself, like BJ Arnu singing Live And Let Die in LALD?
YES or NO?
Posted 03 February 2015 - 09:04 PM
NO
For Bond 25, the theme song should be sung by...
Paloma Faith
or
Laura Mvula
Posted 04 February 2015 - 01:15 AM
Paloma Faith
Which has the better action scenes:-
TMWTGG
or
Moonraker
??
Posted 04 February 2015 - 01:23 AM
Close but I'll go with MR. Free-fall and all.
Which has the better action sequences?
CR'54 or CR'67?
Posted 04 February 2015 - 01:53 AM
CR'54, for no other reason than I refuse to give CR'67 any credit.
You Know My Name as the title track to a different Bond film:
On Her Majesty's Secret Service
OR
Skyfall
?
Posted 04 February 2015 - 02:56 AM
OHMSS. It would kind of work to convince viewers this was the same man, just a different face.
Live and Let Die elements for future films. Would you prefer:
a return to New Orleans
OR
a villain with "supernatural" connections ?
