...I'll give this one to 'Diamonds Are Forever' - nice and manic, with good action.

Bland villain.

George Lazenby and Clint Eastwood singing "Another Way to Die"

George and Clint singing AWTD...Hah!!
Bond 24 use of the Bond theme...should it have more or less, like Skyfall reserved it for the special moment the Aston Martin DB5 was on screen, ??
#3276
Posted 09 June 2014 - 07:56 AM
Hm... I loved all of the use of the Bond theme, but somehow I don't like it when it parodies itself only appearing in a "Bond" moment, I think it could be used to more as his motif rather than just when a fan favourite image pops up on screen - lets have it when he's travelling somewhere or in a confrontation without worrying we are over-using it. It IS his theme after all, not just reserved for "classic moments".
Joseph Wiseman as Doctor No...

Sort of a BLAND/BOND VILLAIN in my opinion.. Really, more could have been done with the final battle between him and Bond, rather than just having him boil to death in the water.
The cheesier sexy-saxophone music moment in a Bond film... During Bond "removing" Saida's lucky charm in The Man With The Golden Gun OR when Stacy Sutton arrives by helicopter to Zorin's estate in A View To A Kill??
#3278
Posted 10 June 2014 - 08:05 PM
Neither. I think the Sutton intro is a great moment. So Saida loses by default.
More gratuitous, cheesier use of Bond theme:
Bond checking out his hotel room in either DN or FRWL
Bond & Q or Bond, M and Moneypenny go for a ride in TND
#3279
Posted 11 June 2014 - 07:54 AM
Has to be the ride sequences in 'TND'. At least the 'DN'/'FRWL' moments used the original Bond theme and had that air of cool about them rather than just loud, brassy noise for no real reason.
Gert Frobe as Auric Goldfinger...

Oh definitely a BOND villain!
Bond infiltrates another Quantum meeting..should it be...in the crowd at a match during the World Cup in Rio OR something more fun like a pub crawl where each pub stop has a Quantum member that passes along a message in code to someone at the next stop ?

I'll go for 'The Man With The Golden Gun' - a nice bit of fun with Nick Nack vs Bond. Pity there's no wine in those bottles though.

Right.. to answer casino's..Christopher Lee as Scaramanga...definitely a BOND villain (he's the best thing about the film, IMO).
(As I'm about to do a Batman marathon,) Which current or former 007 would make or would have made a good Batman/ Bruce Wayne... Connery, Lazenby, Moore, Dalton, Brosnan or Craig?
#3285
Posted 12 June 2014 - 09:58 PM
A tossup between Lazenby in the 60s and Dalton in the late 80s.
(A bit of advice, Milos: watch the first four Batman films in reverse order, so you can experience them getting better instead of worse.)
While we're on the topic, who had the best Batmobile?
Adam West, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer/George Clooney or Christian Bale?
#3286
Posted 13 June 2014 - 07:38 AM
Has to be Michael Keaton - fantastical to the comic source but good enough to look real before it started getting daft in the future films.
Grace Jones as May Day...

Good idea AMC! I literally have not watched the Joel Schumacher Batman flicks since before Chris Nolan's "Batman Begins" came out in 2005... It'll be good to get these ones out of the way first.
Right.. Grace Jones as May Day.. definitely a BOND VILLAIN..
Which Bond actor would be or would have been the best soccer / football player for a World Cup team? Connery for Scotland OR Craig for England?
#3288
Posted 16 June 2014 - 08:13 AM
Hm. You think Craig, but I actually think Connery would have that dexterity about him and be quite nippy and strong on the pitch so I go for him!
Sophie Marceau as Elektra King...

Bond villain. And an excellent actress too.
Better ski chase:
TWINE or AVTAK

That's one thing I'll give AVTAK. I don't even mind the California Girls cue.

The lack of Bond 24 news...are you finding it frustrating OR no, I'm still staying patient?
#3293

Very frustrating.
Better Joe Don Baker performance:
Whitaker in TLD
Jack Wade in either GE and/or TND
#3294
Posted 18 June 2014 - 06:11 AM
Tough one, have to go with Jack Wade because I seen them first and it made it strange to see him in TLD.

....hmm. Both have awfully cheesy musical ending numbers to cap off a decent finale, but both have wonderfully cheeky innuendo puns....so I go for....'The Spy Who Loved Me' on the fact Barbara Bach is there instead of Ekland.
Talisa Soto as Lupe Lamora...

Cool Bond Moments... Bond raising his martini to toast Severine's body guards just before he fights them off in the Lucky Dragon casino in Skyfall OR Bond bursting the "Smiert Spionan" balloon in anger and fury after Saunders is crushed to death in The Living Daylights?
#3297

Has to be that rage and humanity seen via Dalton with Bond bursting the "Smiert Spionan" balloon in anger and fury after Saunders is crushed to death in 'The Living Daylights'.

BLAND GIRL!!
Which former/current Batman actor would make or would have made a good James Bond? Adam West (he was discussed prior to Diamonds Are Forever), Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale or *shudder* Ben Affleck?
#3299
Posted 20 June 2014 - 07:26 AM
...good one Dove. Hmm. Not West, nor Bale....NO WAY Clooney....not Affleck....
...Kilmer was a good Batman but he's no Bond so I'm going to make a link between that darker, broody yet sophisticated side of Dalton to Michael Keaton.
I go for Michael Keaton as James Bond!
Tanya Roberts as Stacey "JAMES! HELP ME!! JAMES!! DON'T LEAVE ME!" Sutton....
