Ola Rapace and Helen McCrory

Both rumoured but good to get confirmation. Speculate away as to their roles!

I speculated elsewhere that Helen McCrory could play a younger Judi Dench in flashbacks, or M's daughter, there's more than a slight resemblance there. No idea about Ola, well he's European and good looking, so, villain.

Ola Rapace - henchman by the looks of it, but who knows? Helen McCrory - again, who knows? Female villain? Female version of Q? Bond's PA, Loelia Ponsonby, from the novels but never before seen on screen? Re-booted version of Sylvia Trench? (Remember her? Supposed to be Bond's on/off girlfriend, lasted all of two films.)

There's so little to go on we could speculate until the cows come home.

And there seems to be an assumption that Ralph Fiennes is playing a villain. Again, we don't know for sure one way or the other. He's "rumoured" to be playing a dark, complex character, but that could easily be someone on "our" side not averse to using the other side's methods. And that character could be a successor to Judi Dench as "M" rather than a re-booted Blofeld. Or neither.

great additions- i think yeah Ola for a henchman, Helen, I'll say Loeila Ponsonby.
I seem to remember Bardem saying things about villains not being villains in the traditional sense, and there was the "who says villains are bad people" remark at the presser - lends credence that atleast one of the "baddies" may not be bad in the Machiavellian sense

I expect they'd just get Finty Williams to play a younger M.

The confirmation that Helen McRory is officially in the cast of Skyfall was the missing piece of the puzzle. Let's put it simply this way: she would be the most likely candidate to play the role of Moneypenny. Add the fact that Naomie Harris has officially stated that she will play the role of Agent Eve...

But would she want to play the role of her own mother?

He's already said that he hasn't heard anything from EON. But I'd much prefer that EON made a film without rather than shoehorning Felix into the plot for the sake of it.

Yep. Which is precisely what Deaver did in "Carte Blanche".

I suspect he was asked to. IFP probably wanted Bond and his two regulars - Leiter and Mathis - to appear, so that fuutre books in Project X would have a model for both characters.

Mmmm. I don't wish to be rude about the lady in question but she's quite 'mature' looking for her age (officially she's the same age as Craig but appears older) - I'm not so sure that's how Moneypenny would be cast, unless they're changing the relationship with Bond completely but in which case why reintroduce her at all?

I speculated elsewhere that Helen McCrory could play a younger Judi Dench in flashbacks, or M's daughter, there's more than a slight resemblance there.

I do wonder if there's something in this; given that Fiennes role appears to be little more than a somewhat cheeky cameo, what if he only appears in flashbacks as a character it's implied is Blofeld and Helen McCrory as the younger M went up against him in some way?

Maybe not henchman in the traditional sense, do we have "henchmen" anymore? Perhaps he's one of the sub-villain types like Obanno or Dimitrios. But given his physicality, can definitely see him as someone Craig has a scrap with...

I'm sure Babs took note of this:

Not sure how you can possibly dismiss McCrory by considering her too old for Moneypenny! Maxwell opposite Connery from DN onwards and Bond opposite Brozza hardly scream young-chick infatuation. Both are similar age to Bond and, I suggest, of similar attractiveness toward their Bond as McCrory is to Craig.

And she's more likely to be up to reprise the role for however many Bond's Craig has remaining.

McCrory is Moneypenny.

I don't know if anyone has noticed but McCory is 43 years old, the exact same age as Mr Craig.

She is DEFINITELY Moneypenny.

Helen McCrory's similarity to a young Judi Dench is striking, but I guess Moneypenny would be the obvious role for her. Good actress too.

As for Ola Rapace, he just screams "generic henchman".
