The traditional press conference that marks the kick-off of principal photography on the next James Bond film will be held at Pinewood Studios next month.
As usual, Daniel Craig, director Sam Mendes and producers will meet the world's press at the famous film studios to unveil the start of Bond 23 production.
Contrary to media rumours, filming has not already started on Bond 23. It is not scheduled to start until November, when the first scenes will be captured on sound stages at Pinewood, before the production travels to shoot on location.
Filming will continue through June 2012.

OFFICIAL?: Bond 23 Press Conference to be held next month.

Yeah, me too. But think of it this way, they´ll probably give us the title, the cast and a bit of plot trivia, right? A couple of pictures with Craig in one of the new Tom Fords, so we can elaborate on the "new style", not to mention the girls and the comments of say, Ralph Fiennes and Bardem (we hope). It´ll be one hell of a conference, right?NEXT month. Well, I suppose that's better than next year. I was hoping it would come sooner. Not a press conference necessarily, but some official word as to the title. I was hoping that would be officially confirmed or denied in the next few days.

I have no specific recollection of the press conference for QOS. Were there any genuinely surprising revelations, or was it just confirmation of rumors already in the air?

First of all Bond No # 23 has began filming at Pinewood this is a bogus MI-6 Story someone must of just read and posted ,the story cites no source whatsoever (MI-6 TRYING TO LOOK GOOD AGAIN ALL THE WHILE THEY JUST GET THE NEWS JUST LIKE THE REST OF US THRU GOOGLE). The top brass at Pinewood has even said filming has started. There will be no press conference till January just like the times before so don't be duped. There will be an announcement with pics and footage just like the previous press conferences that have always been in January with cast and other details. The title is not SKYFALL so don;t believe in chicken little when he said the sky is falling either. You will not know the title of anything till January of 2012 my sources at Pinewood say everything is closed sets with lots of security.

Eloquent, witty, and utterly devastating. After this takedown, I'd say the whole Skyfall/press conference rumor has been thoroughly debunked.

I certainly hope so. And hopefully they'll tell us who's doing the theme.

This is what they showed/talked on QoS Press Conference, held in January 2008 at Pinewood.

Well, I was at Pinewood only a few days ago and Bond 23 is still in pre-production, crewing up, constructing sets and on schedule for an early November start of
principle photography at the studio.
The QOS Press Conference was in Jan because that's when the film started shooting. Bond 23 is starting earlier, hence the Nov Press Conference. The principle photography schedule
is about a month longer than the last film, and the longer schedule is also great for the post production, which won't be quite as tight as QOS. A camera-man associate of mine who has worked on the past 4 or 5 Bonds films, and hopes to be involved in this new one, says there is some pretty big stuff to do - implying bigger than CR and QOS.
As for the title SKYFALL, I guess we'll know one way or another come next months Press Conference.

How can we now if that date is "official"? EON source? Pinewood source?...
Well, an Eon rep did tell the Daily Record that there would be a start-of-shoot press conference next month.
So that fits.

Are you referring to the EON representative in the article on Castle Duntrune? I'm afraid that was an "unnamed" source, and thus not as reliable as an official one.
Yes. Apparently a rep from Eon said “We won't confirm anything until our start of production press conference some time next month."
Not cast-iron 'official' but seems legit.
Essentially, The Record phoned Eon and were given a “no comment”. However, it was dropped in that a press conference was coming next month.

The press conference has traditionally been held at the start of principal photography. Whether this report is "official" or not, it sounds right to me.

1. Some mild discontent will be expressed in regards to QUANTUM OF SOLACE, likely about its script, suggesting that SKYFALL is going to be whatever QUANTUM OF SOLACE isn't, i.e., a return to "classic Bond." But they will still talk about how this puts Bond on a journey, how it offers opportunity to explore the character, peel back the layers, etc.
2. Everybody will fawn over Sam Mendes.
3. The Bond girls will be described as Bond women, Bond's equals, particularly Moneypenny, who was always able to go toe-to-toe with Bond.
Things won't happen at the press conference:
1. SKYFALL will be described as "just another Bond film," an exercise in premium entertainment, nothing more.
2. Sam Mendes will concede that he's doing SKYFALL for the paycheck and marketability it will give him in the future, after a string of not-so-beloved follow-ups to AMERICAN BEAUTY and ROAD TO PERDITION.
3. The Bond girls will be described as eye candy.
