That is too weird - so are you collecting both the US and UK Gardner sets Zen, or just the Pegasus?

Both. :) But I'm only displaying the UK set.

I got my copy of FSS today after seeing this thread. It really is a lovely design.
I'm a bit appalled by those US covers for changing the typography though: the choice of fonts is what makes the cover.

Something is really strange about the "Role of Honor" edition of the new pegasus edition. if you look at the spine, it has the 007 logo, the title, then the author. In the previous released editions, the spine had the 007 logo, the author, then the title.

Is this a mistake?

Yeah, I noticed that as well, and covered it in my story about the release of these two books on my blog (thought I posted this here already?)

EDIT: Oh, yeah, I already posted this several posts above.

It is a mistake. But I don't think one that's going to be corrected.

They look great; I really like these designs. The typography is so nicely serious in tone and slightly period too.
Never Send and Goldeneye are my faves of this bunch.

I've finally ordered the first five, will be nice to see them in flesh. I also just re-read them so I don't get tempted to read (and therefore destroy ;) ) the new ones.

Have not been on the forum for a while. Here is the reply I got from Pegasus Books regarding the spine issue

> "Re the Bond spines: This is my fault. I hadn't thought about a consistent spine design. My only excuse is that we are an overworked indie house trying our best to meet our deadlines, which can be quite challenging at times.
>

> Claiborne Hancock"

I was afraid that would be the reason. It was simply overlooked, quite understandable when one considers these editions weren't designed with collectors' needs and wishes in mind.

Thanks for the heads-up, Simon!

Great news, at some point it seemed like they wouldn't release all of these until next year. Still haven't started with No Deals, Mr Bond though.

I’ve just ordered all of the Gardner Bond paperbacks from The Book Depository.

I’ve only owned a few of the books (Licence Renewed, Death is Forever, No Deals Mr Bond and Icebreaker) but never the whole set. So the prospect of getting them all at once, in a uniform set, is very appealing.

Next stop is getting those Benson novels reprinted.

Um, I'm pretty sure they were reprinted and are still in (re-)print.
