The THUNDERBALL rating is ridiculous. And even moreso when compared to some of the crap that scored higher.
I think it was a bit of fun. Great way to mark a Birthday. If you dont like the scores why not hold your own Bondathon?

Even Elliot Carver would think Jiffy Pop is "delicious".Funny thing, during TND someone made Jiffy Pop and the entire room got up and went to the kitchen to watch. Watching popcorn pop was more entertaining than TND.

I agree, strange rating for "Thunderball"... Perhaps they ate before and they slept during it, digesting...
Great idea by the way, congrats' !

See, that's exactly when my opinion of FYEO and OP fell down to the basement, because I watched them right after MR. The pacing really feels terrible by comparison, and the visuals from Glen's crew don't hold a candle to the Gilbert/Young tag team, in my opinion. Not me. This was all Athena and Brad's doing. I was only there for a handful of films (planned to come back for CR and QOS, but I got a little too tipsy watching the Oscars). So much fun...and I think the rankings are pretty good. Watching them this way did cause you reevaluate them. As has been said, NSNA was a huge surprise. A shock, in fact. The entire room was into it, and so was I. Most of the films played better for me. Very happy to see TSWLM ranked so high (because that's where it belongs). Moonraker played great, even the outer space stuff. But that's no surprise because that movie is AWESOME! Unfortunately, FYEO and OP both played much slower. I also really thought TND would improve. It didn't. Funny thing, during TND someone made Jiffy Pop and the entire room got up and went to the kitchen to watch. Watching popcorn pop was more entertaining than TND. CR '67 ranked low but it was still a lot of fun to watch, and it was a nice break in tone. I think people liked it more than the ranking reflects.

Still, as a fan of NSNA I'm pleased to see that it went down surprisingly well in some quarters, although I remain irked by the perpetual black sheep status of the wonderful and hugely underrated THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN.
BTW, did anyone last the full course and stay awake for every single film?

Apart from Brad and Athena, the battle was between their friends Chad and Linda for who stayed the longest. I think Linda won?
Wish I would have been there for more (I did 10 films). I didn't realize how fun it would be. Also, I made Oscar plans. But this was MUCH better than watching the Oscars (which I hated).

I wanted to come back after and catch the end of CR and QOS. But I was a little too tipsy to drive. You should have left the Oscars, as I did.

Interesting to see that the top five films all had five different Bonds.
And great to see OHMSS maintain its consistent rating. Clearly someone didn't like it that much. A seven? Please!

Gr8 to see GF on top. The top 3 didn't surprise me. TB low down did and surprised AVTAK and OP aren't lower, other than that I think the ratings sit about right.
I hope you guys didn't have to work the next day. I'd need a day off to recuperate....

Biggest surprise so far is what a hit NSNA was. I've completely turned around on that film. Brad is making a time lapse film of all three days and our rankings (we rank after each film), so watch for that. It's been a blast so far!
tsk...I have been singing the praises of NSNA for years zencat. In my opinion it's right up there as one of the best. I always rank Barbara Carrera as the best femme fatale of the entire series

I wish I could do that, watch 25 Bond films in a row over 3 days and not do anything else!

Yes, I know you have. I took me a long time (27 years!), but now I see the light.

I used to live in L.A. and ironically was in town that weekend but just saw this link. Would have liked to meet fellow Bond fans. Athena, I bought that Die Another Day banner from you on eBay a couple of years back. It's hanging in my classroom much to my students' approval (insert second punchline here.)
When Quantum came out on Bluray, my best friend and I watched it as a true double feature with Casino Royale. However, when Craig calls out the martini recipe in CR, we made a couple ourselves. This being twenty years after college now, we promptly fell asleep through parts of QoS (and got nowhere near Bond's six martinis!)
I last watched OHMSS this past Christmas over two installments. Agree generally with your ratings. Nice spread of actors among top five (I'd have LTK at #2)
Really appreciate the video montage!

I just spotted this yesterday. Absolutely awesome event. Has made me so jealous!! It has also got me right back in to Bond again. It has been fully 12 months since I've watched a film but having seen the bondathon video I feel like watching them all again right now! I've signed up to these forums and am re-immersing myself in the Bond-world. Now I've just got to convince my wife to let me host one toohey, this has just made the news over here in Australia!

Athena and Brad are doing all kinds of interviews with Australian media. It's just wild how this has taken off! I do think a lot of it has to do with how well put together the video is, and rating the films was an inspired idea.hey, this has just made the news over here in Australia!
