Great pictures ATG, a shame you couldn't get rid of that aerial in picture #6.

About the aerial. It stands so high from the ground so it's quite difficult to hide from the picture unless if you're not using some photoshop.
Oh, and that pic #6 view is located on the opposite shore of this place.

My poor old Barney, photo taken a few years ago, who died last week; long life, lovely doggy - RIP.

Thanks folks; the children are very upset, especially the twins as he was the same age as them (16 - admittedly quite old for a dog), extra brother etc.

My poor old pal, I'll miss him hugely.

I lost my 16 year old American Eskimo last February. My daughter was 18 and my son was 5 when it happened. Yes, very tough indeed.

My thoughts go out to you and your family.

BTW, Bratislava has a very nice Old Town, full of slavic charm:

It also has a strange building, that screams "Bond Villain's Lair", just opposite the Castle, on the other side of the Danube. It's called the UFO, and surely you can figure why:

Interestingly, the UFO has an observation platform from where you can get an amazing 360° view of Bratislava, which includes the less touristy and trendy neighbourhoods inherited from the communist era (or maybe not, on second thought, since we have the same sort of buildings in countries without a communist history?!):
