Former James Bond star to voice Toy Story 3 character

Former James Bond star makes appearance on popular TV show

Yep, Timothy Dalton's star is evidently ascending as John Lasseter has just announced he is to provide the voice of a thespian hedgehog toy called MR PRICKLEPANTS in 2010's TOY STORY 3. He is due to work alongside Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Michael Keaton and John Ratzenberger in the new instalment from Woody, Buzz and co...

Next you'll be telling me Pierce Brosnan is singing Abba songs alongside Meryl Streep and Timothy Dalton is playing a dubious villain in DOCTOR WHO...(!)

What's next...? Roger Moore as the voice of DANGERMOUSE, Sean Connery lending vocal duties to THE SIMPSONS janitor and George Lazenby becoming the new voice of SKIPPY IN 3D ("What's that Skippy? I won't sign on for the second film as my agent suggests its a bad move? Check out that hot lady tennis player...sod the alimony....").

We have an official Toy Story 3 thread knocking around somewhere on here. B)

Anyway, brilliant news. I agree with Cruiserweight, it's just another reason to go see the movie. I've always loved the TOY STORY movies, I was planning to see the third anyway, but this just makes it extra special!

The man does seem to be having a career resurgence of late, he's appearing in everything theses days, which is brilliant, you can never get enough of the Daltonator

Dalton easily has the best voice of all the Bonds (even Connery), which makes me surprised he hasn't been asked to do more of this kind of work (or maybe he has?).

The fact Spielberg and Jackson cut his part out of their Tintin movie(s) still irks me, though.

But how does anyone know that is really that true? And it is an intended three film saga... Dalton is probably not out of it just yet.

Awesome news!. I'm always happy when Timothy gets a new job. He stole the show in Hot Fuzz.

Awesome news. I was going to see TOY STORY 3 at some point, but this news might actually get me out to a theater to see it.

Not that there was any doubt of my seeing this film, but now I have all the more excuse to go rushing off to the theatre as soon as I can after it opens.

Hopefully, this will help a new generation to discover Dalton's earlier work(both Bond and otherwise).

There is talk that Cars 2 features a secret agent character who looks like an aston martin, looks like a part tailor made for Dalton

As cool as that would be if they did go after a Bond actor to do the voice you think they'd go for Dalton? Personally i think they'd go after Connery,Moore,Brosnan,or Craig

Honestly, I'd almost rather Brosnan voice the character in Cars. Assuming he turns in the quality of Russia, and not Peru.

"Is that a prickle in your pants, or are you just happy to see me?"

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

A thespian hedgehog, huh? I think he'll get the point. Honestly, this is good news and Dalton should be interesting and entertaining. He can be quite funny and charismatic when he tries--see The Rocketeer and Hot Fuzz. His casting ensures that I'll be seeing Toy Story 3 now (and Michael Keaton as a Ken doll has got to be hilarious too).

I always thought Dalton rescued the Bond franchise.
Both films were good, and still pass the test of time.

I might have to watch this film while high, if that can somehow make this even more surreal. I doubt it.
